There are nine German top-flight fixtures taking place from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd November, and Bundesliga tipster Ben Smith has put forward his bets and predictions along with the corresponding Bundesliga betting odds.
Hoffenheim head to Mainz on Friday in strong form, although this has not been a kind venue for them, having lost all four previous Bundesliga visits.
This season has been different on their travels, with positive results and plenty of goals. Their five away matches have averaged 3.8 total goals, and four of those games featured over 1.5 first-half goals.
Mainz were 3-1 down at home to Leverkusen in their last meeting with a top-six side, and a similar pattern could unfold here.
Betting Tip: Over 1.5 First Half Goals - 27/20 10bet
Heidenheim’s home form may end up being key to their survival prospects, and recent signs are encouraging.
They are unbeaten in their last three at the Voith-Arena and fully merited the five points collected in that run. Frank Schmidt’s side deserved their win over Augsburg and were unfortunate not to beat Werder Bremen after coming out well on top in the xG numbers.
Monchengladbach did win at St Pauli, but the Kiezkicker are on a seven-match losing streak. Heidenheim should offer far more resistance and look capable of taking at least a point.
Betting Tip: Heidenheim Double Chance - 7/10 Betway
Seven points separated Dortmund and Stuttgart last season, and it is tight between them again this term with only goal difference keeping Dortmund ahead.
Dortmund’s sole league defeat came away at Bayern, and like Stuttgart, they remain unbeaten at home, although they managed only a draw against Leipzig in their penultimate outing at the Westfalenstadion.
They rarely looked like winning that match and have found chance creation difficult, scoring just once across their last five games. Stuttgart have scored in every Bundesliga away match, and a single goal may be enough to land a return on the Asian handicap.
Betting Tip: Stuttgart +0.75 Asian Handicap - 10/11 BetMGM
Bayern already look firmly on course in the title race, holding a six point lead over RB Leipzig after just ten matches. A home meeting with Freiburg rarely causes them problems, and they have scored ten unanswered goals across the last three head to heads at the Allianz Arena.
Vincent Kompany’s side have led at half time in seven straight Bundesliga home games dating back to last season. Anything else here would be a surprise, and with Bayern winning both halves in five of those seven, that angle makes sense again.
Betting Tip: Bayern to Win Both Halves - 6/5 Coral
Augsburg have the weakest defensive record in the division, conceding 24 goals in ten league matches.
Fifteen of those have come at home, and while three were against top three sides, the 4-1 loss to Mainz did little to inspire confidence.
Hamburg have had two goalless draws on their travels but both featured plenty of chances. Their other three away matches all went over 2.5 goals. Given Augsburg’s defensive issues, the overs line looks a fair option at the price.
Betting Tip: Over 2.5 Goals - 71/100 QuickBet
Wolfsburg’s 2-1 defeat at Werder Bremen before the international break proved to be the end for Paul Simonis, who has been replaced on an interim basis by U19 coach Daniel Bauer.
It is a difficult first assignment for him, with Leverkusen arriving in outstanding form. They backed up a key Champions League win away at Benfica by dismantling Heidenheim 6-0. If they maintain anything like that level, Bayer look a fair price to continue their momentum and collect another three points.
Betting Tip: Bayer Leverkusen to Win - 11/10 Coral
Eintracht Frankfurt have been involved in some chaotic matches this season, with their fixtures averaging 4.2 goals thanks in part to a 6-4 win over Gladbach and a 4-3 defeat to Union Berlin.
Köln have not been short on entertainment either, recording two 4-1 home victories, and three of their four home games have seen both teams score in the second half. That same bet has landed in three of Frankfurt’s five away matches, so it looks worth backing again at the price.
Betting Tip: Both Teams to Score in the 2nd Half - 6/4 QuinnBet
RB Leipzig will likely begin this one nine points adrift of Bayern, but they are strong favourites to keep the pressure on. They have won all four home matches this season, although their defence has been breached in the last three.
Werder’s only away win came at Gladbach, yet they have scored in all but one of their road fixtures. With Leipzig generally dependable at home and Werder offering a goal threat, Leipzig to win and both teams to score seems the sensible call.
Betting Tip: RB Leipzig to win & Both Teams to Score - 7/5 QuinnBet
The international break arrived at a good moment for St Pauli, who needed a reset after seven straight Bundesliga defeats.
Union Berlin, by contrast, headed into the pause with two strong home performances, including becoming the first side this season to hold Bayern to a draw.
Given St Pauli’s slide and Union’s recent improvement, the visitors appear the more likely winners here.
Betting Tip: Union Berlin Draw No Bet - 21/20 QuinnBet
