It's 19th vs 6th at Turf Moor on Wednesday as Burnley look to bank three key points before it's too late. The visitors, however, are looking to leapfrog Chelsea and regain a Champions League spot after dropping points against Leeds.
Our Premier League football expert Nathan Joyes takes a look at the odds and provides his best bet.
Burnley's 2-0 defeat against Brighton at the weekend extended their winless run to 11 matches - leaving them six points adrift of safety.
It hasn't been much better at home for Scott Parker's side, who have only beaten Leeds since their return to the Premier League.
Having lost four of their last five at home, Burnley have managed to secure three goals and pick up a point vs Everton.
Improvement has come - but not the required amount or level to drag them out of the bottom three. If they are to stay up, those goals need to start banking points - and quick.
Man United have made the bizarre call to sack Ruben Amorim after their draw against Leeds. Sitting in 6th place and on course for a Champions League spot, it seems a strange decision to sack the Portuguese head coach at this stage of the season.
For all of Man United's flaws this season, Amorim appeared to be finally getting it all together - especially in comparison to last year. Instead, the Red Devils will head to Burnley without him.
Having only lost one of their last five on their travels, Man United have been rather consistent of late, only losing narrowly against high-flying Aston Villa.
But how the squad will react to the sacking is anyone's guess. Amorim appeared to be liked within the dressing room but now they will need to wait to see who will take over - likely towards the end of the week.
There's no real surprise to learn that Burnley have failed to beat Man United for quite some time - but not many would have known it was all the way back in 1968.
Man United have also won four of their last five visits to Turf Moor, only dropping points once back in 2022 when Paul Pogba's first half strike was ruled out by Jay Rodriguez's second half goal.
With Burnley seemingly uncapable of winning football matches and Man United making the short trip without Amorim, we have a more intriguing match than most would have anticipated on our hands.
Nathan Joyes has taken a look at the Premier League odds for this match and puts his best bet forward.
Burnley (15/4 with Betfred) will feel slightly more optimistic about a positive result with Man United (7/10 with Betano) making the decision to part ways with Amorim - hoping that the visitors will be slightly unsettled by the news.
But the hosts will still need to show a level they haven't yet this season in order to get something out of the game - and perhaps the sacking may give them false hope. Five losses from their last six home matches - including four games without scoring is highly concerning.
Man United haven't been in poor form despite sacking Amorim, and have largely performed well on the road with recent wins against Crystal Palace and Wolves secured.
The visitors will want to impress whoever takes charge - and this is their first opportunity to make sure they aren't shortlisted for a move this January. Man United enjoy their trips to Turf Moor, and one or two goals should be enough to bank the three points - with or without a head coach.
