Champions League Acca Tips With BetMGM

The Champions League quarter-finals begin this week, with four first-leg ties taking place across Europe and no obvious favourite to win the competition.

Arsenal head the outright market, largely because they have been given the kindest draw of the remaining teams against Sporting Lisbon. Bayern Munich are next despite facing Real Madrid, while Barcelona sit just behind them. Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain are fourth favourites to retain the trophy.

Real Madrid v Bayern Munich is the standout tie of the round and takes place on Tuesday night. Los Blancos came through against Manchester City in the last 16, while Bayern put ten goals past Atalanta across the two legs. With two of the most experienced clubs in the competition meeting, neither side will want to head to the return leg at a disadvantage.

Arsenal travel to Sporting Lisbon after getting past Bayer Leverkusen. Although they lost to Southampton in the FA Cup at the weekend, they are priced as clear favourites for this tie and will expect to take a positive result back to London.

Barcelona face Atletico Madrid in an all-Spanish quarter-final after knocking out Newcastle and Tottenham respectively. These sides know each other well and there is unlikely to be much between them over the two legs.

The final tie sees Paris Saint-Germain host Liverpool. PSG had little trouble against Chelsea in the previous round, while Liverpool recovered from a first-leg defeat to Galatasaray to go through.

Real Madrid v Bayern Munich - Over 3.5 Goals (11/10)

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich meet for the 29th time in European competition on Tuesday, with another open game looking likely at the Bernabeu.

Madrid have not had the build-up they would have wanted after Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Mallorca left them further behind in the La Liga title race. Even so, their record in this competition remains difficult to ignore. They have won all four of their knockout matches so far, including a comfortable aggregate victory over Manchester City in the last round, and they have scored in every home Champions League game since 2018.

Bayern come into the game in better shape. Vincent Kompany's side are unbeaten in 12 matches and continue to score freely, averaging more than three goals per game in Europe this season. They put ten past Atalanta in the last 16 and have scored at least three goals in eight of their last nine matches in all competitions.

With both sides carrying so much attacking threat, there looks a good chance of another high-scoring meeting between them. Over 3.5 goals appeals.

Sporting Lisbon v Arsenal - Both Teams to Score (4/5)

Sporting Lisbon head into this quarter-final in excellent form and will believe they can make life difficult for the Gunners in the first leg.

The Portuguese side have lost only once in their last 16 matches and followed up their remarkable comeback against Bodo/Glimt with another league win at the weekend. Their home form has been particularly impressive, with Sporting winning all five of their Champions League matches in Lisbon this season and extending their overall winning run at home into double figures.

The Premier League leaders remain favourites to go through, but they arrive in Portugal after a difficult few days. Defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final was followed by an FA Cup loss at Southampton, while doubts remain over Gabriel Magalhaes after he was forced off at the weekend.

Despite that, Mikel Arteta's side have been reliable in Europe and have scored in every Champions League match this season. Former Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres will also be eager to make an impact against his old club.

With the Gunners carrying plenty of threat going forward but looking less secure defensively in recent weeks, Sporting should have chances of their own in Lisbon. Both teams to score stands out.

Barcelona v Atletico Madrid - Over 1.5 goals in Each Half (37/20)

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid meet again on Wednesday, only a few days after their heated La Liga clash. The Catalan side have had the upper hand in this fixture for much of the season and they are difficult to oppose at home.

Hansi Flick's side have won 22 of their 23 matches in Catalonia this term and swept Newcastle aside in the last round with eight goals across the two legs. They continue to create chances at a remarkable rate, but they rarely look completely secure at the back.

That should give Atletico some encouragement. Diego Simeone's side have struggled away from home recently, although they remain dangerous on the counter and have already shown in this fixture that they can exploit Barcelona's high defensive line.

With the Catalan club so prolific at home and Atletico capable of contributing, this game could open up quickly and continue that way after the break. Over 1.5 goals in each half looks worth a go.

PSG v Liverpool - PSG -1.5 Handicap (8/5)

PSG have been given the ideal build-up to this quarter-final after their weekend meeting with Lens was postponed, allowing Luis Enrique's side to prepare solely for Liverpool's visit.

The holders have already brushed aside one Premier League side in the knockout stages, beating Chelsea 8-2 on aggregate. They have also won five of their last six matches against English opposition in the Champions League and have been far more productive in Paris.

Liverpool head to Paris after Saturday's 4-0 FA Cup defeat at Manchester City and their recent away record is difficult to ignore. They have lost four of their last five away matches in all competitions and have managed more than one goal in only one of their last seven on the road.

With Liverpool struggling away from home and PSG regularly finding another level in Paris, the French side can take a useful lead into the second leg. PSG -1.5 looks the best bet.
