Despite Chelsea's many casualties, Enzo Maresca is getting positive results with his squad - and the Blues head into this match on the back of three consecutive wins.

Two of those were achieved in the Premier League, beating champions Liverpool 2-1 in the final minute thanks to a goal from teenage sensation Estevao, before brushing Forest to one side at the weekend.

Their narrow 1-0 home win over Benfica before those matches saw them bounce back from their 3-1 defeat away to Bayern in the Champions League - although it's safe to say that result won't define where they finish in the group stage.

Chelsea look strong this season - and at home they will fancy their chances to beat anyone - despite their growing injury list.

Ajax must improve quickly

Ajax head into this clash on the back of a three match winless run.

Marseille hammered them 4-0 in the Champions League and they haven't bounced back since, drawing 3-3 with Sparta Rotterdam before losing 2-0 at home to AZ Alkmaar at the weekend.

Having conceded nine goals in their last three, Ajax could be in for a long evening at Stamford Bridge.

And at the other end of the pitch, the Dutch outfit don't look strong enough to compete at this level having also fired a blank vs Inter in round one.

Wout Weghorst (33) remains their striker of choice in a 4-5-1 formation, and with a lack of movement up top, Ajax may struggle once again vs a superior opponent.
