In recent weeks, Bournemouth have competed well against higher-ranked opponents, yet have failed to turn promising positions into wins. They let points slip after taking the lead against Manchester United at Old Trafford, and those dropped points have proved costly given their poor home form.

Matches against Burnley, Everton and West Ham yielded just two points in total, leaving little margin for error moving forward.
