The European World Cup qualifiers begin this Friday where Denmark will host Scotland. It has been almost three months since we have seen either nation in action, and both head into this fixture on the back of sizable victories. But who will take all three points in Copenhagen? Nathan Joyes takes a closer look.
Denmark will hope to kickstart their qualifiers with a win but will have to achieve it without Christian Eriksen who is currently out injured. Still, there's plenty of attacking talent on show that should be enough to get over the line.
A combination of Anderlecht's Kasper Dolberg, San Diego's Anders Dreyer and Monaco's Mika Biereth should be very difficult to keep quiet throughout the 90 minutes. All three scored last time out as Denmark hammered Lithuania 5-0 - and although Scotland will be a slightly tougher opponent, home advantage could prove to be the difference.
Denmark have only lost once at home since 2022 (Spain) and their fine record looks set to continue - even without Eriksen on the pitch.
Steve Clark has a big task on his hands. Finishing above Denmark and Greece looks like an extremely difficult challenge that lies ahead - and starting in Denmark's backyard doesn't make it any easier.
He has been boosted with the return of Ben Doak, Lyndon Dykes, Kenny McLean and Ryan Christie - although how Scotland perform will be largely down to Napoli's Scott McTominay.
Where the goals are coming from is a concern. Clark has Che Adams, Kieron Bowie, Dykes and George Hirst to choose from to lead the line, but all four will find it tough to break down a stubborn Dane defence.
These two nations haven't met since 2021, where Scotland ran out 2-0 winners at Hampden Park. Scotland have won three of their last five meetings, but the most recent meeting that took place in Denmark saw the hosts run out comfortable 2-0 winners themselves.
Denmark's home record is almost flawless, while there appears to be a few loose holes within Scotland's squad. With a bumper crowd expected in Copenhagen, the hosts should send their supporters home happy.
Denmark are the clear favourites to win Group C and they have the perfect opportunity to send a statement out to both Greece and Belarus.
They've looked to make it difficult for Scotland as much as possible, so much so the travelling fans will be limited to just over 1,700 tickets - with almost 49,000 home supporters expected to be in attendance. It's going to be a difficult atmosphere for the Scots to play in.
But on the pitch, the Danes have too much attacking talent to not pick up the three points. Dolberg, Dreyer and Biereth are all in line to start, and all three have been in excellent form for their respective clubs.
Scotland may have McTominay, but he alone will need support, and it's difficult to know where Scotland can hurt Denmark over the 90 minutes.
The hosts are odds-on to win, which is justified, but backing them to win to nil at 7/5 looks an enticing price. Good luck to those that follow.
