EFL ACCA TIPS WITH BETMGM

The Championship returns this weekend, with the 2026/27 campaign now well underway and the early league table beginning to take shape.

There are plenty of interesting fixtures across the division, with teams looking to build momentum after the opening weeks of the season.

Here are my five best football tips for this weekend’s EFL accumulator. The prices are taken from BetMGM, who offer a wide range of Championship odds.

WEST HAM VS WREXHAM – WEST HAM TO WIN (8/15)

West Ham have made a great start to the Championship, and they've shown plenty of quality going forward. The Hammers have scored regularly and should create chances against Wrexham.

The visitors have started the campaign well and come into this game after an impressive 3-0 win over Millwall. However, a trip to London Stadium will be a difficult test.

West Ham have the stronger squad and in-form Jarrod Bowen will look to get on the scoresheet. The 29-year-old has had a positive start with five attacking returns in the league.

SWANSEA CITY V BURNLEY - SWANSEA TO WIN (23/20)

There is a big contrast between these two sides heading into Saturday’s match, and Swansea look well placed to come away with the three points.

The hosts have been one of the Championship’s strongest performers during the opening stages of the campaign. Their winning run was halted at Southampton in midweek, but one disappointing result is not enough to put me off backing them here.

Burnley, meanwhile, have struggled to get going. They remain without a league win and find themselves towards the bottom of the table after a difficult opening few weeks. Confidence is unlikely to be particularly high, and this is another difficult fixture for Nicky Hayen’s side.

With the home advantage, Swansea should have enough quality to control this game and create better opportunities. I’m expecting a response from the Swans and will be backing them to secure another three points.

DERBY VS BIRMINGHAM - BIRMINGHAM TO WIN (23/20)

I'm with Birmingham to win at Pride Park, with the visitors showing greater consistency than Derby during the early stages of the season.

The Rams have endured a difficult spell, suffering three defeats across their last five league outings, including losses in each of their previous two. During the two losses, Derby were unable to find the back of the net. On the other hand, Birmingham have been much better, with just one loss over the same period.

Neither side arrives following a win, but the Blues have shown enough recently to suggest they can bounce back here and capitalise on Derby’s poor run.

BOLTON VS CARDIFF – BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (40/85)

I’m expecting chances at both ends when Bolton face Cardiff. The visitors have carried a consistent attacking threat this season, finding the net in seven of their eight matches in all competitions, although keeping teams out has proved much more difficult.

Bolton’s defence has also been vulnerable, with 12 goals conceded across their first six Championship fixtures. However, they have shown they can cause problems going forward, including scoring twice against both West Ham and Sheffield United.

Neither side has convinced me defensively, and both have enough going forward to get on the scoresheet. That makes BTTS my preferred selection.

WEST BROM VS QPR – WEST BROM TO WIN (11/10)

West Brom get my vote when QPR visit The Hawthorns. The Baggies have made an excellent start, winning four of their opening six league matches and putting themselves among the early promotion contenders.

They have also been impressive defensively, recording back-to-back clean sheets in wins over Watford and Derby. QPR should make this competitive, but their recent form has dipped after failing to win either of their previous two matches. With West Brom playing at home and carrying the better form into the weekend, I fancy them to have enough to see off QPR and add another three points to their tally.
