EFL ACCA TIPS WITH BETMGM

The Championship returns this weekend, with the 2026/27 campaign now well underway and the early league table beginning to take shape.

There are plenty of interesting fixtures across the division, with teams looking to build momentum after the opening weeks of the season.

Here are our five best football tips for this weekend’s EFL accumulator. The prices are taken from BetMGM, who offer a wide range of Championship odds.

STOKE VS CHARLTON – CHARLTON TO WIN (5/2)

Charlton have shown some promising signs during the opening weeks of the Championship campaign and will travel to the bet365 Stadium believing they can come away with three points.

The Addicks have adapted well to the level so far and could be well placed to take advantage of a Stoke side that have yet to find any real consistency.

Stoke will hope playing in front of their own supporters can help them produce a stronger performance, but this looks like a good opportunity for the visitors. Charlton have offered enough to suggest they can compete away from home and, if they maintain their encouraging early-season form, they could take maximum points.

LEICESTER VS OXFORD – UNDER 2.5 GOALS (10/11)

For my next selection, I’m going to League One due to this being one of my strongest fancies. Leicester will be hoping Tuesday’s 2-0 success against Plymouth proves to be a turning point after a frustrating beginning to life in League One. The Foxes had gone three matches without a win before finally getting three points on the board, while keeping a clean sheet in the process.

Oxford arrive at the King Power following a disappointing night in Yorkshire, where Huddersfield handed them a 3-1 defeat. After avoiding losses in their previous league outings, they will be keen to produce a more disciplined performance this weekend.

A high-scoring encounter may not be on the cards here. Leicester have yet to really click going forward, and Oxford could adopt a more measured approach after conceding three last time out. Under 2.5 goals is the preferred bet.

WEST BROM VS WATFORD - WEST BROM TO WIN (17/20)

West Brom have looked great during the early stages of the campaign, and this home fixture provides another opportunity to collect three points. Albion are sitting in seventh, and they should be confident of controlling large periods of the game at The Hawthorns, particularly if they can impose themselves early and put Watford under pressure. Their home advantage could prove important in what looks a very winnable fixture.

Watford certainly have enough quality to cause problems, but they may find it difficult to match West Brom. The Hornets have struggled on the road, losing four of their last five away games. When looking at recent encounters, West Brom overcame Watford with a comfortable 3-0 home win when they last met.

QPR VS MIDDLESBROUGH – BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (3/5)

There is plenty to like about Middlesbrough heading into this fixture. They have carried a genuine attacking threat during the opening weeks of the season and their performances arguably deserve more points than they have collected. Boro have been particularly effective at getting into dangerous areas, which could make them a difficult opponent for QPR.

QPR have also had a positive start to the season. Currently sitting in second, the Hoops will aim to continue their momentum. Julien Stéphan’s side have scored four goals in their recent two outings, and Boro carrya huge attacking threat with in-form Will Lankshear. Lankshear has had a positive impact on Middlesbrough’s attack following an excellent start with four league goals.

PRESTON VS BLACKBURN – UNDER 2.5 GOALS (4/5)

A low-scoring match looks possible at Deepdale, with both teams having plenty of room for improvement after the opening weeks of the season. Blackburn have not offered enough going forward; they come into this fixture on the back of a goalless draw at Lincoln,

With this fixture being a derby, it could turn into a scrappy game where clear opportunities are difficult to come by. Neither attack makes a particularly strong case for a goal-heavy afternoon, so under 2.5 goals is my selection.
