There are another 12 games this weekend in the EFL Championship and we have some Championship betting tips for you. We've got a betting prediction for every Championship fixture this weekend, along with Championship betting odds and betting bonuses.
Let’s start with the Friday night fixture, which takes place under the lights at The Hawthorns stadium, featuring West Brom vs Leicester. West Brom have had a good start to the season and currently sit 7th in the table. However Ryan Mason’s side don’t have the best home form, with a draw and a loss in their last two home games. Visitors Leicester are in 4th place in the table with 3 wins from their opening 6 games.
Betting tip: - Leicester to win - 2/1 - Betway
Coventry and Birmingham clash in this Midlands derby, as both Frank Lampard and Chris Davies’s sides head into the fixture in the top half of the table. Coventry have averaged 2.67 goals scored per 90 at home this season, compared to Birmingham's 0.67 goals in away fixtures who have also lost two out of their last three games.
Betting tip: Coventry win BTTS no - 47/20 - BetMGM
It’s 10th vs 11th as Swansea play Millwall at the Swansea.com stadium. It should be a close game, but with Swansea’s Brazilian forward Ronald in good form with 3 goals in his last 5 games they should edge it.
Betting tip: Ronald to score - 16/5 - QuickBet
Wrexham face Derby on the back of a 3-2 away win against Norwich. Newly promoted Wrexham are currently 16th but have had defensive problems. They have the 19th worst defence in the league, conceding 12 goals , and are ranked 24th in the league for expected goals conceded. Derby have looked good in their last two away games with a 1-0 win against West Brom and a 2-2 draw against Ipswich.
Betting tip: Draw - 9/4 - Bet442
Charlton go into this fixture having won 1-0 away at Sheffield Utd in their last match, thanks to a late goal from Isaac Olaofe. The Addicks have relied on defensive solidity this season, conceding five goals in their last six games. On the other hand, Blackburn’s recent game against Ipswich was abandoned with ten minutes to go due to a waterlogged pitch. Before the abandonment, Blackburn looked good, leading 1-0, and they managed back-to-back away wins against Hull and Watford without conceding before the abandoned fixture against Ipswich. Todd Cantwell has been in good goalscoring form this season, with three goals in five starts.
Betting tip: Blackburn win - 11/5 - Bet442
Ipswich beat Sheffield Utd 5-0 in their last result and haven’t lost at home this season. Portsmouth meanwhile come into this fixture on the back of a disappointing 2-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday and have also averaged 2.5 yellow cards per game this season.
Betting tip: Ipswich win and Regan Poole to get a yellow card – 11/4 - BetMGM
Bottom of the table, Sheffield United travel to Oxford United, which is set to be an interesting fixture for the Blades, with it being Chris Wilder’s second game back in charge. Sheffield United have won 5 of the last 6 games between the two sides and should get their first points this season.
Betting tip: double chance bet with Sheffield Utd to win or draw - 7/20 - BetMGM
Preston and Bristol City have both had great starts to the season, so this should be an exciting encounter. I can see Bristol City trying to dominate possession and press high. Preston will likely try to stay disciplined and potentially hit on the counter. Both teams have struggled to keep clean sheets so far this season, and Bristol City have been starting games well.
Betting tip: Bristol City to score first - 21/20 - QuickBet
QPR have been in great form recently, winning their last three fixtures. Richard Kone was the top goal scorer in League One last season for Wycombe with 16 goals, and he’s managed three goals in three starts for his new club. QPR should make it four wins from four.
Betting tip: QPR win and Richard Kone to have 1+ shots on target – .BetMGM
League leaders Middlesbrough head to Southampton, who are currently 18th in the table with only one win in their last five. The Saints have been creating chances, but they aren’t converting enough, which has led to a low attacking output. Middlesbrough have averaged 2.33 goals scored per game on the road this season and are expected to win this game.
Betting tip: Middlesbrough win and a goal in both halves - 3/1 - BetMGM
Stoke City have made a strong start to the season under Mark Robins, securing 12 points from their opening six matches. Despite a recent loss to QPR they remain second. Norwich have had a mixed start to the season with seven points from six games. The Canaries have dominated recent encounters between the two sides, going unbeaten in their last nine Championship meetings, including six wins. Stoke have a strong home record, winning three of their five home games this season, and Norwich remain unbeaten in five away matches across all competitions, with three wins. This one could go either way.
Betting tip: Draw - 13/5 - Bet442
Watford have had a challenging start to the season, securing only five points from their first six matches, losing their last two games. Hull have had a good start, picking up eight points, but haven’t won away this season, and have conceded an average of 2 goals per game.
Betting tip: Draw - 23/10 - Betway
