EFL CHAMPIONSHIP BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS 6TH APRIL 2026

Publish Date: 04/04/2026
Fact checked by: Jordan Noble

We have Championship fixtures, and Championship tipster Louie Truman has his Championship best bets and predictions along with Championship betting odds.

PORTSMOUTH VS OXFORD

Last time out, Portsmouth did well to secure a point against in-form Norwich. Pelle Mattsson scored an own goal in the 84th minute, which made it 1-1. Pompey are just one place above the relegation zone, but they’re without a win in their last five. Oxford are also in a relegation battle; the U’s are sitting in 23rd, just one point from safety. Both sides will aim to secure crucial points in their aim for safety.

Betting Tip: Under 2.5 Goals – 7/10 - BetMGM

MILLWALL VS NORWICH

Millwall have had an excellent campaign; the Lions recently moved into an automatic promotion place after a brilliant 2-1 away win against Middlesbrough, Josh Coburn scored the winner in the 86th minute. Prior to this result, Alex Neil’s side secured just one point from their previous two. Norwich have shown brilliant form in recent outings; when looking at the table for the last five matches, Philippe Clement’s side rank fourth. In their recent outing, the Canaries took the lead against Portsmouth, but Pompey managed to equalise in the 84th minute.

Betting Tip: Both Teams to Score – 8/11 - Betfred

BLACKBURN VS WEST BROM

Last season, Blackburn just missed out on the playoffs, so supporters will be disappointed with their current campaign. Rovers are sitting in 19th, but they’ve shown better form in recent outings with seven points from their last three. Blackburn come into this fixture on the back of an impressive 1-0 away win against Birmingham. It was a great win, considering Birmingham’s strong home record. West Brom are just one place below Blackburn in 20th; the Baggies have won two of their last three. Both sides will look to secure important points to increase their chance of avoiding relegation.

Betting Tip: Draw – 21/10 - Star Sports

BRISTOL CITY VS SHEFFIELD UNITED

Bristol City are sitting in mid-table; the Robins have won just one of their last five, which came last Friday against Charlton; Scott Twine and Noah Eile were the goal scorers. Attacking midfielder Scott Twine has played a crucial role in the attack for Bristol City this season. He’s managed 11 goals and 6 assists. Sheffield United have had an inconsistent season. They lost their first five games under Rubén Sellés, who replaced Chris Wilder, but was quickly sacked. Wilder returned with the focus on steadying things. The Blades are sitting in 17th, with three points from their last five.

Betting Tip: Both Teams to Score – 3/5 - BetMGM

DERBY VS STOKE

Derby are just two places outside the play-off places. The Rams lost 3-2 against league leaders Coventry last time out, but they won two in a row prior to this loss, keeping clean sheets in both. Ben Brereton was excellent last time out, scoring a brace at the CBS Arena. Throughout the season, Derby have had brilliant spells, but they’ve struggled with consistency. Stoke have secured six points from their last three, and the Potters come into this fixture on the back of a 2-0 home win against Sheffield Wednesday.

Betting Tip: Derby To Score First – 4/6 - Betfred

IPSWICH VS BIRMINGHAM

Ipswich are currently fourth in the table, three points from an automatic promotion spot. The Tractor Boys have had a spell of draws recently; they’ve drawn three of their last four. Last time out, Kieran McKenna’s side had 17 shots against Millwall, but they found the back of the net just once. Birmingham comes into this fixture on the back of consecutive losses against Derby and Blackburn. The Blues were unable to score in their last two, and they’ve lost their last three on the road.

Betting Tip: Ipswich To Win the First Half - Star Sports

PRESTON VS QPR

Preston had an excellent start to the current campaign, so promotion was a possibility for Lilywhites, but they’ve dropped off in the second half, which has led them to sit in 15th. Preston have dropped off due to a lack of squad depth, injuries, and poor attacking form, making it difficult to turn performances into results and maintain consistency. QPR have been excellent in recent outings, winning their last three against Leicester, Portsmouth and Watford.

Betting Tip: QPR Win – 39/20 - BetMGM

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY VS LEICESTER

Sheffield Wednesday have endured a difficult season, with financial issues having an impact on the pitch. A lack of consistency throughout the campaign ultimately led to their relegation to League One; the Owls have won just one game this season. Leicester have also had a points deduction, which has put them just inside the relegation places. The Foxes have drawn their last two against Watford and Preston. Patson Daka scored a brace last time out.

Betting Tip: Over 2.5 Goals – 4/5 - Betfred

WATFORD VS CHARLTON

Watford have experienced many highs and lows this season; the Hornets are currently sitting in ninth with 14 wins, 14 draws and 12 losses. Last time out, Watford fell to QPR in a 2-1 defeat; Imrân Louza scored late on, but it wasn’t enough to get anything out of the game. After promotion from League One last season, Charlton had an excellent start to the current campaign, but they were unable to maintain it. The Addicks are currently 18th, and they come into this fixture on the back of consecutive losses against Norwich and Bristol City.

Betting Tip: Watford Win – 5/6 - Star Sports

SWANSEA VS MIDDLESBROUGH

Swansea are without a win in their last three; the Swans will aim to build on a recent 3-3 draw against Sheffield United. When looking at previous meetings between the two sides, there have been under 2.5 goals in their last four meetings. Under the management of Kim Hellberg, Middlesbrough has done well to remain in the talks of automatic promotion. However, Boro are without a win in their last four, so they’ve dropped out of the automatic promotion place to third.

Betting Tip: Draw – 5/4 - BetMGM

HULL VS COVENTRY

Hull have had an excellent current campaign; the Tigers are sitting fifth with seven points from their last three. Hull have been unable to secure three points against Coventry in their last three meetings. League Leaders Coventry are 11 points clear at the top; the Sky Blues managed to secure three points against Derby in their recent league outing, and Jack Rudoni scored a brace.

Betting Tip: Over 2.5 Goals – 8/11 - Betfred

WREXHAM VS SOUTHAMPTON

In the Tuesday night fixture, Wrexham host Southampton. The Red Dragons are just inside the play-off places, just one point clear of Southampton in 7th. Throughout the season, Wrexham have found the back of the net consistently with eight goals in their last five. In their push for a play-off place, Southampton will aim to continue their excellent momentum; the Saints have won their last three against Coventry, Norwich and Oxford.

Betting Tip: Both Teams to Score – 4/6 - Star Sports
