EFL CHAMPIONSHIP BETTING PREVIEW

We have 12 midweek Championship fixtures, and Championship tipster Louie Truman has his Championship best bets and predictions along with Championship betting odds.

BLACKBURN vs OXFORD

Blackburn returns home, winless in their last three. Rovers are currently 19th with six wins, three draws and nine losses; this match could shape the direction of their season. Oxford are just one place above the relegation zone in 21st, and they come into this fixture on the back of a 2-0 away loss against Swansea. Both teams will be looking to secure important points, which will move them away from the relegation zone.

Betting Tip: Blackburn Win – 3/4 – BetMGM

CHARLTON vs MIDDLESBROUGH

After promotion from League One last season, the Addicks had a great start to the Championship and were one of the most consistent teams in the Championship, but have dropped off in their recent outings. The Addicks have conceded 11 goals in three games and come into this fixture on the back of a 3-1 away loss against league leaders Coventry. After four losses in a row, Charlton will be eager to bounce back after a disappointing run.

Middlesbrough are currently second in the table, with two wins from their last two, scoring six goals. Boro have been finding the back of the net, showing real confidence in attack. Charlton, meanwhile, continues to struggle defensively.

Betting Tip: Middlesbrough Win – 23/20 – Spreadex

PRESTON vs COVENTRY

Preston have surprised many this season, they’re currently 5th and are play-off contenders. Preston’s last match was a 1-1 home draw with Wrexham, highlighting their need for improvement in attack. Their recent form has been mixed, featuring a comeback win over Sheffield Wednesday and draws against both Watford and Millwall.

Coventry’s most recent outing was a surprising 3-0 loss to Ipswich, which was an unusually poor performance from Frank Lampard’s side; his team will be looking to bounce back at Deepdale. Prior to this loss, Coventry had been in excellent form with wins against Charlton, Middlesbrough, and West Brom.

Betting Tip: Both Teams To Score – 8/11 – Betway

SHEFFIELD UNITED VS NORWICH

Despite a disappointing start to the season, Chris Wilder’s side has looked much better in recent outings with four wins in a row and 13 goals scored. Recent performances have shown more energy. Wilder demands high standards, and the squad has responded with more intensity both in and out of possession.

Under new manager Philippe Clement, Norwich will look to change their playing style after a disappointing start. The Canaries showed quality in their recent 3-1 home win against QPR, but they lost 3-2 away to Watford in their recent outing. Despite the loss, Norwich will take positives away after scoring twice at Vicarage Road.

Betting Tip: Sheffield United Win & Over 2.5 Goals – 29/20 – PricedUp

SOUTHAMPTON vs WEST BROM

Despite Southampton having a slow start to the season, they’ve shown much better form in their recent outings. The Saints have won four of their last five, which includes an impressive 5-1 away win against Charlton and a 3-1 home win against Birmingham in their recent outing.

West Brom will be looking to get back to winning ways as they travel to  St Mary's Stadium. It’s a tough test for the Baggies, who have been out of form. West Brom have won only two of their last nine Championship games.

Betting Tip: Southampton To Score the 1st Goal – 61/100 – QuickBet

SWANSEA vs PORTSMOUTH

Swansea may be near the bottom of the table, but they go into Tuesday’s game with confidence after ending a five-match losing streak with a win over Oxford United. Portsmouth are set for another away game after Saturday’s match at Charlton was abandoned due to a medical emergency. Mousinho’s side sit 22nd, having won 4, drawn 5, and lost 9 of 18 games, including six losses in their last eight.

Betting Tip: Swansea Win/Draw – 3/10 – Spreadex

WATFORD vs SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

Watford head into this game boosted by a 3-2 home win over Norwich, which ended a brief winless run. The Hornets have now won six of ten home games, giving them the second-best home record in the Championship. Sheffield Wednesday currently sit 24th with -10 points. Off-field problems have hurt the team’s performance, with the Owls currently 27 points away from safety.

Betting Tip: Watford Win – 8/15 – PricedUp

QPR vs BIRMINGHAM

QPR are back in form, winning their last two home games against Hull and West Brom. They’ve taken three wins from their last five league matches, including a 1-0 away win at Blackburn. While their attack has scored 25 goals, their defence remains weak, conceding 29. The Blues have scored in four of their last five games, which includes an impressive 4-1 home win against Norwich. Regardless, Chris Davies’ side comes into this on the back of a 3-1 away loss against Southampton.

Betting Tip: Both Teams To Score – 19/25 – QuickBet

BRISTOL CITY vs LEICESTER

Bristol City host Leicester City in what promises to be an entertaining game. The Robins have shown resilience at home this season, looking to secure vital points to strengthen their league position. Leicester, meanwhile, are eager to bounce back and maintain momentum as they push up the table. The Foxes come into this fixture on the back of an impressive 3-1 away win against Derby County, who have shown great quality in recent outings.

Betting Tip: Leicester Win/Draw – 12/25 – BetMGM

DERBY vs MILLWALL

The Rams had an excellent run of form last month, winning five in a row, but they’ve dropped off in recent outings, with three losses in their last five. However, these losses have come against difficult oppositions; Watford, Middlesbrough and Leicester. Millwall are currently third, and promotion looks a real possibility for Alex Neil’s side. The Lions have won their last three and will be looking to continue this momentum in Wednesday’s fixture.

Betting Tip: Millwall To Win & Both Teams To Score – 11/2 – Betway

IPSWICH vs STOKE

The Tractor Boys host Stoke, which is an important fixture, with both sides currently in the play-offs. Kieran McKenna’s side will be full of confidence after securing a 3-0 win against league leaders Coventry, which led to the Sky Blues having just their second loss of the season. Stoke come into this fixture on a disappointing run with four losses in their last five. The Potters will need to start regaining momentum to keep their play-off hopes alive.

Betting Tip: Ipswich Win – 4/6 – PricedUp

HULL vs WREXHAM

Hull are mid-table with eight wins from nineteen games, but their -3 goal difference shows defensive problems. They’ve lost their last two home games, conceding six goals, and have lost four of their last five at the MKM Stadium. Wrexham are unbeaten in their last five Championship games, with four draws. They’ve conceded just 21 goals this season and are difficult to beat away from home.

Betting Tip: Draw – 12/5 – Spreadex
