We have 12 midweek Championship fixtures, and Championship tipster Louie Truman has his Championship best bets and predictions along with Championship betting odds.
Birmingham had an inconsistent October with one win, one draw and two losses. However, the Blues have opened November in excellent form with a dominant 4-0 win against Portsmouth last Saturday. Before Saturday’s win, Chris Davies’s side had not won at home since 20th September. Having failed to record back-to-back league wins since August, the Blues will be looking to shake off their inconsistent form and build some momentum. Millwall go into this fixture with four wins from their last five league games. Their impressive winning run was halted on Saturday when Oxford United equalised in the 96th minute, denying Millwall what would have been a fifth straight league win.
Betting Tip: Draw – 5/2 – QuickBet
Bristol City will be aiming to bounce back at Ashton Gate after their heavy 5-1 loss to Stoke, while Blackburn will have an increase in confidence after a 2-0 away win against Leicester. Both teams have shown inconsistency in recent weeks. However, I can see the Robins coming out on top against Blackburn because of the strong record they have at Ashton Gate, winning their last two and scoring in six straight home games. With Blackburn’s recent good form, highlighted by a 2-0 away win at Leicester, I expect them to find the net.
Betting Tip: Bristol win and both teams to score – 3/1 – Spreadex
Charlton Athletic have adjusted impressively to life in the Championship and remain in the promotion mix. Their recent 1-1 draw with Swansea saw them lose a late lead, but the result did little to halt their momentum. The Addicks are unbeaten in their last four games, showing a solid defence and consistent form. At home, Charlton have been particularly strong, avoiding defeat in 19 of their last 20 matches and scoring in 19 of those, which highlights their threat on home turf. West Brom head to the Valley without a win from their last three, most recently drawing 0–0 with financially stricken Sheffield Wednesday.
Betting Tip: Charlton Win or Draw – 2/5 – Betway
Derby have been excellent recently, winning three of their last five matches and finding the net consistently. Hull, however, are no pushovers themselves, claiming four wins in their last five outings. With both teams looking to attack, this fixture promises to be an entertaining clash. Carlton Morris has been exceptional recently with four goals in his last two, which includes his first hat-trick of his career against Sheffield United last Saturday.
Betting Tip: Carlton Morris To Have a Shot on Target – 3/5 – BetMGM
Ipswich Town host Watford at Portman Road in what promises to be an entertaining Championship clash. Manager Kieran McKenna was recently named October’s Manager of the Month after guiding the Tractor boys to a series of strong performances. Watford have had a rocky few months under Javi Gracia. Their most recent setback was a 3-1 loss to league leaders Coventry, worsened by James Abankwah’s first-half red card. Despite this, the Hornets come into this fixture on the back of a 3-0 home win against Middlesbrough.
Betting Tip: Over 2.5 Goals – 8/11 - PricedUp
Since last season’s relegation, Leicester City have struggled in the Championship. The Foxes are currently sitting in 14th with 17 points; the club has underperformed relative to the quality of their squad. Their latest defeat also brought criticism aimed at manager Marti Cifuentes, underlining the pressure he faces. Middlesbrough have made a strong start to the Championship, collecting 25 points from their first 13 games, which sees Rob Edwards’s side sitting second, behind only Frank Lampard’s Coventry City. However, their run hit a bump with a draw at Wrexham and a 3–0 loss to Watford at the start of November. Boro had previously bounced back quickly from setbacks, and Edwards will be hoping for another swift response on Tuesday.
Betting Tip: Middlesbrough Win – 21/10 – Betway
Oxford United come into this game with mixed form, strong at home but shaky away. They’ll look to press high and exploit gaps in Stoke’s defence, with Lankshear leading the attack. On the other hand, Stoke have been better in recent games, winning three of their last five. The Potters were sensational last Saturday, managing to beat Bristol City 5-1 with Mubama scoring a hat-trick.
Betting Tip: Stoke City Win/Draw – 4/11 – BetMGM
Coventry return to the Building Society Arena looking to continue their excellent home form, while Sheffield Utd arrive struggling on the road. The Sky Blues are unbeaten in six home games, whereas the Blades have lost five of their seven away fixtures this season. Since Chris Wilder’s reappointment, the Blades have shown glimpses of improvement with two wins from their last four.
Betting Tip: Coventry Win – 4/7 - Spreadex
Paul Heckingbottom’s side has had an excellent start to the current campaign in sixth place, which has perhaps gone unnoticed. At home, the Lilywhites have been solid, remaining unbeaten in 82% of their last 28 matches. In their last four home games, they’ve won twice with three goals conceded. Swansea City are sitting in 16th, with four wins, five draws and four losses. Alan Sheehan’s side is currently scoring one goal per 90, which reflects an average attacking record.
Betting Tip: Both Teams Not To Score – 4/5 – Betway
Queens Park Rangers have had a mixed run lately, winning two and losing three of their last five matches. Their away victories over Swansea City and Bristol City show they can be competitive, especially when high in confidence. The Saints sit only three points above the relegation zone, having secured just two wins so far. Southampton supporters will be frustrated by the lack of goals; the Saints have only scored three goals in their last five fixtures. Manager Will Still has been sacked as Southampton’s head coach, the club has confirmed that Under-21 head coach Tonda Eckert will take interim charge of the team.
Betting Tip: Under 2.5 Goals – EVS – QuickBet
Norwich City, who are 23rd with eight points from 13 games, travel to face bottom-of-the-league Sheffield Wednesday, who are facing financial difficulties. The Owls have struggled to find form, with the club in turmoil off the pitch. Liam Manning’s side have lost their last five, with relegation a strong possibility. Few expected the Canaries to find themselves in the relegation zone this far into the season, and a positive result at Hillsborough is now crucial.
Betting Tip: Under 2.5 Goals – 10/11 – BetMGM
Pompey will be looking to bounce back after losing three of their last five games, having managed just three goals in that duration. On the other hand, Wrexham have been more consistent, with two wins and two draws in recent matches. Phil Parkinson’s side come into this fixture on the back of a 3-2 win against league leaders Coventry. Wrexham’s ability to score could trouble Portsmouth due to their vulnerable defence.
Betting Tip: Wrexham Win – 15/8 - PricedUp
