The Dons had an excellent start to the season; Johnnie Jackson’s side looked like real play-off contenders, but they’ve dropped off recently, with only two points from their last five, and they currently sit in 13th. Their opposition, Stevenage, have surprised many and are fourth in the table. In their last two, Boro managed to beat Stockport 3-1 at Edgeley Park, and they drew 2-2 with Burton, which was disappointing after going 2-1 up.

The Tykes are currently 10th and just six points away from a play-off place; Conor Hourihan’s Barnsley have three games in hand on the majority of teams above them, so their aim will be to secure play-offs. Recently, the Reds managed to beat Leyton Orient 3-2, but lost to Exeter 3-0 in their recent outing.Mansfield has dropped down to a relegation place after losing four of their last five. Both sides will be looking to build momentum during the festive fixture schedule.

League leaders Cardiff are three points clear at the top; the Bluebirds have managed to win four of their last five. But Cardiff lost 2-1 against second-place Lincoln in their last fixture. Exeter are currently 20th, but have looked good recently with two wins against Wimbledon and Barnsley. The Grecians kept clean sheets in both of these wins.

The Terriers managed to beat Rotherham United 3-1 in their recent outing at the AESSEAL New York Stadium at the weekend. Lee Grant’s side will aim for back-to-back wins when they host Port Vale on Friday. Port Vale are currently bottom of the league, seven points behind Doncaster Rovers. They have struggled this season, winning just three games.

Peterborough come into this fixture on the back of three consecutive wins against Reading, Northampton and Port Vale. Leyton Orient have been excellent at home recently, but have struggled on the road, losing four of their last five away fixtures.
