Everton will look to build on their win against Man United when Eddie Howe's Newcastle arrive at the Hill Dickinson stadium. Can the Toffees take advantage of Newcastle's midweek defeat against Marseille?
Our very own Premier League football tipster Nathan Joyes provides his best bet for the match.
After Idrissa Gueye's bizarre red card in the 13th minute against Man United, it was almost expected that David Moyes' side would fold. Instead, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall delivered a stunning strike on the half hour mark and Everton dug deep to secure three big points.
That win moved Everton seven points away from the relegation zone, securing back-to-back wins for the first time this season. A win against Newcastle, in theory, could propel them into the top half of the table.
At their new home is where the Toffees have done most of their best work. Having secured 10 points from six matches, Everton have only suffered one defeat in front of their supporters - who have endured good value for money since moving across to their new home.
Newcastle's latest defeat in the Champions League away to Marseille was their third defeat from their last five matches. It's a case one step forward yet two back for Eddie Howe, who has managed to get the better of both Man City and Athletic Bilbao this month.
But a lack of consistency is costing them from progressing up the table, and having lost four of their last five away matches across all competitions, there's certainly work to be done.
Newcastle have been able to score in each of their last five matches, but conceding three against both Brentford and West Ham will have fans worried. If their defence doesn't tighten up soon enough, Howe's side could be dragged into an unwanted - and highly unexpected - relegation scrap.
Everton beat Newcastle 1-0 on the final day of last season at St. James' Park thanks to a second half strike from Carlos Alcaraz. The reverse fixture at Goodison Park ended in a 0-0 draw - and Newcastle are now winless in their last four against Everton (D2 L2).
With Everton beginning to find their feet, the hosts look good value to make lift difficult for their visitors once more. Nathan Joyes has analysed the Premier League odds for this fixture and provided his best bet below.
Everton (9/5 with Betfred) are the outsiders in this match - despite being at home - and that's quite surprising after their back-to-back wins. There may be some tired bodies after playing over 80 minutes with 10 men, but the same could be said for Newcastle.
The visitors (13/8 with Betano) have just four days between their defeat to Marseille and preparing themselves for their match on Merseyside - and considering their recent results on the road - Howe's men aren't an appealing price.
Unbeaten against Newcastle in their last four clashes - including keeping two clean sheets last season - Everton will fancy their chances they can beat a deflated Toon side on the road.
Since their 3-0 defeat to Spurs, Everton have picked up seven points from a possible nine, conceding just once - and that progress appears to have been ignored by the bookmakers. Side with the hosts on the draw no bet line.
