We have the FA Cup semi-finals, and Louie Truman has his best bets and predictions along with FA Cup betting odds.
Manchester City will be high in confidence as they’ve recently gone to the top of the league. The Sky Blues have won their last five, which includes a 2-1 home win against Arsenal; Cherki and Haaland were the goal scorers. Erling Haaland has been brilliant this season, scoring 24 league goals this season.
During their last five in all competitions, Pep Guardiola’s side have kept four clean sheets; Man City have been solid at the back this season. Under Pep Guardiola, they keep a compact shape, control possession, and counter-press quickly, so opponents struggle to create chances.
Manchester City have an excellent record in the FA Cup; the Sky Blues have won it seven times, and they’ve reached the final on 14 occasions. The last time they won it was in 2023; they managed to overcome Man Utd with a 2-1 win; İlkay Gündoğan was the man of the match.
Southampton come into this fixture on the back of an excellent spell of form; the Saints haven’t lost in their last 20 matches, which has led to them moving up to fourth in the Championship table, so they’ll aim to secure promotion back to the Championship.
Ryan Manning has played a crucial role in their current system; Manning has been crucial for Southampton because he adds goals, assists, and creativity from left-back, especially through set-pieces and attacking runs.
To reach the semi-finals, the Saints managed to overcome Premier League sides Fulham and Arsenal. During their dramatic win over Arsenal, Ross Stewart scored the opener, and Shea Charles scored the winner in the 85th minute.
Manchester City have an excellent record against Southampton; the Sky Blues have won two of their last three encounters against the Saints, and they have kept clean sheets in two of the last three meetings. Tonda Eckert’s side have won just four of the last 27 matches against Man City.
Despite Southampton being in excellent form, Man City should be too much for them. The Sky Blues have an excellent record at the Etihad. Pep Guardiola’s side have lost just one league match at home this season.
Betting Tip: Manchester City/Manchester City – 4/6 - BetMGM
Liam Rosenior was recently sacked as Chelsea head coach; the Blues have lost their last five, and they’ve been unable to find the back of the net during the five losses.
The decision to sack Liam Rosenior was made after the declining performances and league position. The Blues have dropped to eighth, so they’ll look to bounce back as they look to secure European football next season.
Chelsea have struggled at the back recently, conceding 11 goals in their last five; the defensive issues have come from a system which has led to constant mistakes at the back.
Calum McFarlane has been confirmed to step in as the head coach until the end of the season, so he’ll aim to make an immediate impact. The last time Calum McFarlane took charge as head coach, he managed to secure a point away at Manchester City.
When looking at the Premier League table, Leeds have moved up to 15th, undefeated in their last five. United have won two of their last three, wins coming against Man Utd and Wolves. Daniel Farke’s side will be pleased with how their current season is going; United are nine points clear of the relegation zone.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been great for Leeds this season; his presence and finishing ability have given Leeds an excellent presence in attack. Calvert-Lewin has managed 11 goals and one assist in the league. In the quarter-finals, Leeds managed to overcome West Ham on penalties after the game finished 2-2.
Chelsea have won two of the last four encounters against Leeds, and their recent encounter finished 2-2. United have managed to overcome Chelsea just twice in their last ten meetings.
Under the management of Calum McFarlane, Chelsea will aim to bounce back after a difficult run, the Blues have a great record against Leeds. Daniel Farke’s side are unbeaten in their last five, so they’ll be difficult to break down. With both sides aiming to reach the FA Cup final, I think this fixture will be difficult to separate.
