Inter welcome Arsenal to the San Siro in round seven of the Champions League, where the hosts will be in a confident mood that they can record a positive result. After Arsenal slipped up against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, Mikel Arteta will be keen to put it right in Italy.

After losing the Super Cup final against Bologna, Inter have gone six matches unbeaten, winning five of those and only dropping points in a 2-2 draw against Napoli.

Four of those wins have seen Inter keep clean sheets, who have proven to be incredibly difficult to break down in Serie A conceding just 17 in 21 matches.

In the Champions League, Inter have been rather strong as well, only losing narrowly to Liverpool from their six matches to date. At home, they beat Slavia Prague comfortably before avoiding a scare against Kairat Almaty.

However, the 2025 finalists look solid and difficult to break down under former player Cristian Chivu - perhaps not a shock due to the quality the defender possessed during his career.

Arsenal will have their work cut out to end their unbeaten run.

Arsenal must bounce back

Mikel Arteta's side had the chance to go nine points clear at the top of the Premier League on Saturday evening but fell short against Nottingham Forest with a 0-0 draw.

However, the fact that their goalkeeper Mat Selz secured the man of the match shows how the game played out and on another day, Arsenal would have walked away with all three points.

So it's hardly panic stations just yet, and sitting top of the tree in the Champions League indicates just how good the Gunners have been this campaign.

Having won all three away trips without conceding, Arsenal have easily brushed aside Slavia Prague, Club Brugge and Athletic Bilbao. But perhaps their biggest test awaits on Tuesday.

These two sides have faced each other four times - three in the Champions League - and have both come away with two wins apiece. The most recent clash was back in 2024, where Inter came out on top 1-0 at the San Siro thanks to Hakan Calhanoglu's first half penalty.

Both Inter (17/10 with Betfred) and Arsenal (8/5 with Betano) are odds-against heading into this tie which suggests the bookmakers are finding it difficult to side with a favourite.

However, that doesn't necessarily mean the game won't open up at nay point. Two of Inter's three home matches have seen over 2.5 goals land, and the same can be said for Arsenal on their travels.

And while the visitors are yet to concede on the road, Inter have only failed to score at home in two of their last 20 matches across all competitions. However, one of those matches came in this very competition against Liverpool, and the other was against their arch-rivals AC Milan.

Arsenal are better than both of those teams, and currently unbeaten in six away matches, Arteta will be keen to his to bounce back to winning ways and keep that momentum going.

They were unfortunate not to beat Forest, but that should only add fuel to the fire and a side that has comfortably beaten Bayern in this competition can once again send out a statement win.
