It's 4th vs 13th as Liverpool head to the San Siro hoping to climb level with Inter Milan after six rounds. The hosts are two from two in their final season at their iconic ground, while Liverpool must bounce back from their shock 4-1 defeat against PSV.
Our football expert Nathan Joyes dives into the Champions League betting odds and provides his best prediction for the match.
Although Inter Milan lost narrowly against Atletico Madrid in the final minute, they have bounced back with three consecutive domestic wins.
The latest was a 4-0 win against Como at the San Siro - a real confidence boost before facing Liverpool midweek. In fact, they have been scoring for fun this season, leading the way in Serie A outscoring everyone by a mile.
That has been down to two players. Lautaro Martinez has seven goals and two assists to his name, while teammate Hakan Calhanoglu has six goals and an assist to his. Young forward Ange-Yoan Bonny has four and may be used off the bench on Tuesday evening.
Having won both home matches to date - albeit against Slavia Prague and Kairat Almaty - confidence will be high within the camp.
Confidence will be high because Liverpool's will be low. After leading Leeds at the weekend with less than 20 minutes left on the clock, Arne Slot's side once again threw away points - and with the match finishing 3-3, it was another sign how poor they have been defensively.
It's now just one win in six that came against West Ham who finished the game with 10 men, and it feels as though Slot is one or two big defeats away from being given the boot.
On the road in the Champions League, Liverpool lost narrowly to Galatasaray but then hammered Frankfurt 5-1. The lack of consistency has stumped several pundits trying to work Liverpool out, but if they don't improve at the back this season will end in a disaster.
These two sides last clashed in the 2022 round of 16 in this very competition, where Lautaro Martinez's second half strike sealed a 1-0 win at Anfield. However, Liverpool had won the reverse leg 2-0, securing their spot in the quarter finals. Liverpool have won both trips to the San Siro when facing Inter (2008 and 2022).
With Inter in good spirits and Liverpool continuing to falter, it's easier to side with the hosts under the San Siro lights on Tuesday. Nathan Joyes provides his Champions League best bet for the match below.
Inter (6/5 with Betfred) are an attractive price at odds-against to pile on the misery for their guests. Inter have won eight of their last 10 matches at the San Siro, scoring at least two goals in each of those victories.
Six have seen the hosts score at least three and four have produced at least four goals from the Italians. It has been another solid start to their campaign.
The same cannot be said about Liverpool (11/5 with Betano) who have won just three from their last 10 matches across all competitions. Conceding in seven of those games, Slot's defence have just conceded three against Leeds - a side that shouldn't be tearing apart a team like Liverpool.
And so the hosts - at odds-against - will have their tails up. One camp is confident, the other is deflated, and that could impact the end result.
TIP: Inter to win at 6/5 with BetMGM.
