There are ten La Liga fixtures scheduled this week, taking place from Friday 5th December to Monday 8th December. La Liga tipster Ben Smith has outlined his latest bets and predictions for the round, with each selection paired with the best La Liga betting odds available for every matchup.
After three straight home defeats, Oviedo have at least steadied things at the Carlos Tartiere with goalless draws against Osasuna and Rayo Vallecano.
Even so, they have looked second best for long spells in all their home fixtures and do not appeal as slight favourites against Mallorca.
The visitors have lost six away matches, but all were against top-half sides. Their one trip to a bottom-half team brought a 3-1 win at Sevilla. Draw no bet keeps things sensible, but Mallorca look the better side to support.
Betting Tip: Mallorca Draw No Bet - 19/20 QuickBet
Villarreal’s only dropped home points this season came through a 94th-minute Real Betis equaliser. Other than that, the Yellow Submarine have been dominant at Estadio de la Ceramica.
Their European campaign has not developed as hoped, but in domestic competitions, they have put together seven straight wins, including an excellent 3-2 victory at Real Sociedad last week.
Getafe also arrive after a league win, yet like most visitors this season, they may find Marcelino’s side too strong on their own patch.
Betting Tip: Villarreal -0.75 Asian Handicap - 10/13 BetMGM
Only one point separates Alaves and Real Sociedad in the La Liga table, so it is no surprise that the match odds are tight.
Both sit firmly mid-table in terms of attacking and defensive numbers, and their respective games tend to be low scoring, which naturally brings the draw into play.
Sociedad have drawn 1-1 away at sides ranked 11th, 12th, and 15th, so repeating that outcome against the team in 14th would be no surprise.
Betting Tip: Draw - 2/1 Coral
It is unusual to see a La Liga total goals line set at 3.5, and it feels as though the market has pushed this one too far, as money has come for the overs.
Barcelona have been involved in some high-scoring matches, but much of that stems from fixtures against lower-ranked sides. Four of their seven away games have gone over 3.5, yet all were against teams placed 12th or lower.
Betis have seen just one home match clear that line, and when hosting top-tier opposition like Atletico Madrid, they couldn’t break them down.
Betting Tip: Under 3.5 Goals - 4/5 QuinnBet
Atletico Madrid took the lead at Barcelona on Tuesday but could not cope with the pressure that followed, eventually losing for the first time in La Liga since the opening weekend.
That result should not overshadow their overall level this season. Several away setbacks have been harsh, with a red card costing them at Mallorca and discipline again hurting them at Celta Vigo.
If they keep 11 on the pitch, they should have too much for Athletic Club, who have already been beaten to nil three times at home.
Betting Tip: Atletico Madrid to Win - 6/5 Betway
Sunday’s early match sends Girona, still without an away clean sheet, to an Elche side that have conceded more than once at home only in their most recent fixture against Real Madrid.
Elche remain unbeaten on their own ground and have defeated every side ranked below them in front of their supporters.
Given that record, this is a difficult assignment for Girona, and based on what both teams have shown so far, it would not be a surprise if they leave empty-handed.
Betting Tip: Elche -0.25 Asian Handicap - 17/20 10bet
Sevilla have one of the stronger away attacking records in La Liga, but that may count for less against a Valencia side who give very little away at Mestalla.
Three of Valencia’s home games have ended in wins to nil, most recently restricting Levante to almost nothing in the final third.
They remain limited going forward, though, with only two of their seven home fixtures finishing over 2.5 goals. A low-scoring contest looks the most likely outcome.
Betting Tip: Under 2.5 Goals - 8/11 10bet
Espanyol and Rayo Vallecano have followed similar patterns this season, generally handling the lower-ranked sides well but finding life tougher against the stronger teams.
That makes this meeting an interesting measure of where they truly stand. The market feels a touch low on Vallecano, who have shown they can perform just as effectively away from home, winning three times on their travels.
With the sides closely matched, the visitors appeal on the Asian handicap, with it offering a profit even if the match finishes level.
Betting Tip: Rayo Vallecano +0.25 - 22/25 BetMGM
Celta Vigo have scored in all six of their away matches this season, a run that has helped them collect maximum points from their last three trips.
They have also found the net in all four meetings with top-five sides, all at home, with both teams scoring in each of those fixtures.
Real Madrid remain perfect at the Bernabeu, although they have conceded in half of their home games. The value lies with Real Madrid to win and both teams to score.
Betting Tip: Real Madrid to Win and Both Teams to Score - 7/5 Betway
It may be a little early to label Osasuna v Levante a relegation six-pointer, but it certainly has that feel. By full time on Monday they could be level on points or six apart.
A draw would not be a disastrous outcome for either side, so at the bigger price, that is the route to take.
Betting Tip: Draw - 11/4 10bet
