Lanus' route to the final saw them overcome league rivals Central Cordoba, Club World Cup semi-finalists Fluminense and Universidad de Chile. Impressively, Lanus kept four clean sheets from a possible six during the knockout stage.

Midfielders Marcelino Moreno and Dylan Aquino both head into the final with three goals to their name each - with the former also contributing three assists. Operating as a no.10, the 30-year-old will be Lanus' main hope if they are to pick up silverware after the full time whistle.

The Argentine club have only lost one of their last 10 matches across all competitions - a narrow 2-1 loss against Banfield just a few days after beating Universidad de Chile in the semi-finals.

Lanus are the underdogs - but it won't be easy for Mineiro.

Last year's Copa Libertadores finalists will be hoping this season doesn't end in disappoint once more - although their experience should give them the edge heading into this contest.

This is a squad filled with talent. With former Everton midfielder Bernard, Nottingham forest winger Gustavo Scarpa, Palmeiras forward Rony and Hulk within their ranks, this is a team that can certainly produce goals.

Under former Argentine head coach Jorge Sampaoli, Galo have drastically improved since his mid-season appointment. They head into this contest having scored 10 goals in their last five matches. They only failed to score against Bragantino and Internacional, but did receive red cards in those games.

If they can remain disciplined, this is a match Mineiro are capable of winning - and giving their fans something to cheer about after last year's disappointment.

These two sides have only faced off twice in their history. It was the Recopa Sudamericana final back in 2014, after Mineiro had won the Copa Libertadores and Lanus the Copa Sudamericana.

Mineiro won the first leg in Argentina 1-0 before beating Lanus after extra time 4-3 back in Brazil.

Lanus (2/1 with Betfred) have been rather solid throughout the tournament but are perhaps a tad fortunate to be in the final. They may have knocked out Fluminense, but the Brazilians dominated their home match.

Chasing the tie, Flu had Lanus penned in their own half for most of the match, but a moment of madness that saw them commit too many players saw Lanus break and stun the Maracana crowd. Mineiro will have watched that match and learnt plenty ahead of their third final in two years.
