Latvia up against it

Winless in seven, Latvia were 12 minutes away from their first win since beating Andorra - against Andorra - but ended up drawing 2-2 on home soil.

Latvia haven't won in front of their own fans since 2024 - beating Faroe Islands 2-1. However, while their opponents have progressed, Latvia have stood still.

More frustratingly, their two goals against Andorra last time out was the first time they have scored more than one goal at home since beating Armenia 2-0 in 2023 - yet still weren't able to hold on.

And that run looks likely to stretch to eight when England come to town on Tuesday - a win (or draw) looks completely out of the question.

England finding their groove

After a sluggish start to life in charge of England, Tuchel's side appear to be ticking along nicely - and coasting towards the 2026 World Cup next summer.

After their disappointing 3-1 defeat against Senegal in a friendly, the Lions have come roaring back with three consecutive wins to nil.

Andorra, Serbia and Wales have all been brushed aside with relative ease - and Latvia should be added to that list.

Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins and Bukayo Saka were all on the scoresheet at Wembley on Friday evening - and it'll be interesting to see if all three are rewarded with a start in Riga.

In the reverse fixture England comfortably won 3-0 at Wembley thanks to goals from Reece James, Eberechi Eze and of course, Harry Kane.

That was the first ever meeting between these two nations - and England will be looking to make it six consecutive away victories on the bounce.

Comfortable win for England

A repeat 3-0 scoreline looks more than achievable - especially considering England put five past Serbia when last seen on their travels.

And it's safe to say England have put in better performances  - and matched that with results of late - a pleasing way to sign off the campaign after a couple of uneasy results when Tuchel first came on board.

England still haven't conceded - and that looks unlikely to change in Riga. Latvia conceded two last time out against Andorra - which shows exactly why England are 1/25 favourites for the match.

In the reverse fixture at Wembley, Latvia managed an xG of just 0.31, while England's was 3.53. It won't matter who Tuchel fields - or who comes off the bench - there are World Cup spots on the line and the goals will come.

Expect another convincing win for the Three Lions - but by backing them to score three and not concede, you'll find a tasty looking 10/11 - far better than their odds to win.
