Performances must improve 

Although Leeds beat relegation rivals West Ham back in October, four defeats have been sandwiched either side of that result. That leaves the Yorkshire based side only one point above the drop after 11 matches.

Goals have become an issue at both ends of the pitch. Only Wolves have scored less, while only Burnley (17th), West Ham (18th) and Nottingham Forest (19th) have conceded more.

But at home is where Farke's side are more comfortable. Having collected eight out of their 11 points at Elland Road, scoring six and conceding five, this is perhaps going to make or break their season.

Aston Villa back on track

After a slugglish start to the campaign Aston Villa are finding their stride as we reach a third of the way through the Premier League season. Unai Emery's side head north in 6th place and in a confident mood having hammered Bournemouth 4-0 prior to the international break.

That was their fourth win from their last five Premier League matches, which included a 1-0 win over Man City. Only Arsenal have picked up more points (13) during this period.

Both Emiliano Buendia and Donyell Malen are Villa's current top goalscorers with three apiece, with the former scoring for the Netherlands during the international break.

The 26-year-old forward will certainly give Emery something to think about if he continues to find the back of the net.

Aston Villa have won three of the last five head-to-heads between 2022 and 2023, most recently winning 2-1 at Villa Park. You have to go back to 2020 the last time Leeds beat Villa and 2016 the last time they beat their next opponents at Elland Road.

Aston Villa (7/5 with Betano) will hope to pile on the misery and continue their good form. Their 4-0 win last time out against Bournemouth perhaps their best performance of the season - and that's after they beat Man City 1-0 as well.
