Leeds picked up three huge points against Chelsea midweek and will now look to claim another big win when Liverpool come Elland Road on Saturday. Liverpool once again fell short dropping points against Sunderland at home.
Read what our Premier League expert Nathan Joyes has to say ahead of this huge clash.
After four defeats on the bounce, Daniel Farke's job was on the line when Chelsea came to Elland Road but the German bought himself some time with an emphatic 3-1 victory.
Not only did that win please the board but it lifted Leeds out of the bottom three. There's still plenty of work to be done, but it showed what Farke's side can produce when they are on it.
Liverpool may be another tough task, but confidence will be high in the home dressing room who will be eager to get back on the pitch and pull themselves further away from the relegation zone.
It was another case of one step forward and two back for Liverpool over the last seven days. A 2-0 win and professional performance against West Ham looked as though Arne Slot had something to build on.
Yet Sunderland came to Anfield knowing the hosts were still fragile and almost snatched all three points if it wasn't for Nordi Mukiele's 81st minute own goal.
Liverpool dominated possession but failed to create any real big moments - a huge concern considering the talent available to Slot.
Sunderland had more shots on target at Anfield - and it's safe to say Liverpool fans won't be relishing their trip to Elland Road.
The last time these two sides met at Elland Road was in the Premier League back in 2023, where Jurgen Klopp's team delivered an incredible 6-1 victory. However, that was clearly a reaction to the reverse fixture, when Leeds shocked everyone and beat Liverpool at Anfield 2-1.
It's worth pointing out that Leeds, however, haven't beaten Liverpool at home since 2000.
With Leeds itching to get back on the pitch after their win against Chelsea, Liverpool could once again be in for a tough evening despite their good record at Elland Road.
Nathan Joyes has taken a look at the Premier League football odds for this match and has found an angle worth taking.
Leeds (10/3 with Betfred) were arguably 90 minutes away from sacking their manager if they had failed to get a result against Chelsea. Yet Farke's side produced arguably their best result of the season and the German lives to survive another day.
Admittedly, Chelsea were not at the races but take nothing away from Leeds who were on it from the first whistle and deserved their two goal lead at the break. The visitors had most of the possession in the second half - and scored - but Leeds largely defended well.
Liverpool (4/5) with Betano) are once again odds-on and it's hard to see that as value. Having lost three of their last five away matches, four of those have produced over 2.5 goals. Elland Road will be rocking, and the visitors won't relish Leeds' aggressive approach.
With that in mind, it could be a repeat of Leeds' win in terms of goals, and it's best to continue with that theme when it comes to Liverpool at present.
