Friday night Premier League action kicks off between Leeds and West Ham at Elland Road. Both sides head into this match on the back of two consecutive defeats - although the Hammers are now winless in their  last five.

A second home win?

Leeds have averaged a point per game so far since returning eight from eight. That will need to improve slightly if they are to avoid relegation.

And although their start to the season has been fairly steady, they do head into this crucial match having won just one of their last six - losing their last two Premier League matches.

On their travels, it's been tough for Leeds but at Elland Road they have been a tighter unit and much more difficult to break difficult.

Having beaten Everton and held both Newcastle and Bournemouth, Daniel Farke will fancy his chances of registering that all important second win.

West Ham must improve

West Ham's 2-0 defeat against Brentford has been spoken about all week long as one of the worst performances of the season. Nuno Santo's side looked disorganised and there were plenty of fans and pundits alike questioning his tactics and player choice.

Ironically, West Ham haven't won since they beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 away from home - when Santo was in the opposite dugout. He has yet to register a win at his new club.

With just one draw (Everton 1-1) from five, West Ham need to start registering wins on the board before they become adrift from 17th spot.

Leeds vs West Ham H2H

These two sides last locked horns in 2023, where West Ham came out on top 3-1 winners. However, back at Elland Road Leeds fought back to secure a point in an enthralling 2-2 draw.

West Ham don't mind their trips to Yorkshire, having won two of their last five since 2005 (W2 D2 L1).

With both sides struggling to get points on the board, neither can afford anymore slip ups against teams competing to stay in the Premier League next season.

Leeds to bounce back

West Ham's (3/1 with Betfred) performance against Brentford was diabolical. Nuno Santo got everything wrong. The players didn't buy into their roles, while the decision to put Lucas Paqueta as the sole striker was bewildering, to say the least.

And within such a short period of time it would take a minor miracle for West Ham to rectify the amount of problems they currently have. They are in a troubling situation and a trip to Elland Road will be difficult.

Admittedly, Leeds (7/8 with Betano) have only won one match on home soil this season, but they've genuinely shown resilience and good performances in front of their fans.

They were moments away from beating Bournemouth, while their draw with Newcastle is looking rather strong at this point of the season.

Leeds face a side out of sorts - and coming up against a West Ham side where fans aren't impressed with their output - they can secure a second win of the campaign.
