There are nine fixtures in the top tier of French football taking place from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd November, and Ligue 1 tipster Ben Smith has put up his bets and predictions along with some Ligue 1 betting odds.
Nice have been strong at home since their opening-weekend defeat to an 89th-minute Djibril Sidibe effort. They have gone unbeaten at home in Ligue 1 since then, winning four of their last five, with the only setback a draw caused by another late goal conceded.
That solid home record has helped offset their weaker away results, and Marseille have similar issues on the road under Roberto De Zerbi, losing three of six. With Nice’s home form holding up well, Marseille look too short to side with here.

Lens are one of the sides trying to close the gap on PSG, but Strasbourg could move above them with a win on Saturday.
That looks unlikely given Lens’ strength at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, where they have won five in a row, including two against teams currently in the top five.
Strasbourg have struggled in similar fixtures, losing three and drawing one of their away matches against top-half opposition. The hosts look the most reliable option here.

Monaco have been difficult to read recently. They picked up useful wins away at Nantes in the league and at Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League before the international break, but also fell to disappointing home defeats against Paris FC and Lens.
Rennes, by contrast, have been much steadier, losing only once since late August, and even that defeat to Nice came in a match in which they were the better side. It is a surprise to see Rennes as slight underdogs, and they appeal in the draw no bet market.

PSG have an array of attacking options, but they have not been routinely sweeping teams aside at the Parc des Princes. They have not scored more than twice in any of their four home league wins, and needed a 94th-minute Goncalo Ramos goal to finally overcome Nice in their most recent domestic outing.
Le Havre were thrashed 6-2 at Marseille, but that came after a first half red card. They have generally kept matches tighter, and they can limit the damage here by keeping the score down.
Betting Tip: Under 3.25 Asian Goals - 5/6 BetMGM
Auxerre sit bottom and have lost nine of their twelve matches. They beat fellow strugglers Lorient in their first home game, and their only other home win was a fortunate one against Toulouse.
Lyon’s main problem has been their behaviour, with red cards in three of their away fixtures costing them points each time.
When they have kept eleven on the pitch, they have produced strong results, including 1-0 wins at Lens and Lille. If they stay disciplined here, they should have too much for Auxerre.

Toulouse vs Angers looks like it could be a tight mid table meeting, much like other matches involving Angers against sides in a similar position. The only fixtures of theirs to go over 2.5 goals have been against top four opposition.
Toulouse have drawn their last two league games 0-0 and 1-1, both in matches they were fancied to win, but they struggled to generate clear chances. A low scoring contest feels the most likely outcome here.
Betting Tip: Under 2.5 Goals - 3/4 Coral
Brest were a major surprise two seasons ago, but last year brought them back down to earth and they have slid further this campaign, sitting 15th with only two wins from twelve. Even so, their underlying home numbers have been respectable. They have won the xG battle in four of six at Stade Francis Le Blé, with the exceptions coming against PSG and in a 4-1 win over Nice where early goals changed the game state.
Metz had been poor on their travels, conceding 21 across their first five away fixtures. They did beat Nantes 2-0 last time, but that felt like a smash and grab rather than a sign of improvement.
Betting Tip: Brest to Win - 5/6 BetMGM
Nantes and Lorient meet in what already feels like a significant fixture in the relegation battle. Lorient’s home form may offer them some hope, but their away record needs urgent improvement.
They have been beaten to nil in five of six road games, though this might be an opportunity to improve given Nantes have conceded nine goals across their last three home matches.
With both sides low on belief, this could be a cautious affair, with avoiding defeat likely to be the main priority for each team.
Betting Tip: Under 2.5 Goals - 77/100 10bet
Lille entered the international break after back to back defeats, one in the Europa League and one in Ligue 1, and they look a little short here.
Paris FC have been competitive against all opposition this season, with their only loss by more than a single goal coming against Marseille back in August.
Aside from that, they have performed well and fully merit their current position of 11th. With Lille wobbling, Paris +1 on the Asian handicap looks the sensible approach.
Betting Tip: Paris FC +1.0 Asian Handicap - 4/5 BetMGM
