There are nine Ligue 1 fixtures on the schedule this week, running from Friday, 28th November to Sunday, 30th November, and Ligue 1 tipster Ben Smith has shared his latest bets and predictions. Each selection is supported by the relevant Ligue 1 betting odds.
Metz’s small revival was halted by Brest last week, with a 100th-minute penalty leaving them empty-handed. Even so, they had won three on the bounce before that and appear to be moving in the right direction.
Rennes are also in good form, highlighted by their 4-1 win over Monaco last weekend. You could argue for either team here, but with both showing signs of life, it makes more sense to avoid the match outcome and focus on goals instead.
Betting Tip: Over 2.5 Goals - 7/10 Betway
Both Monaco and PSG were involved in wild Champions League matches in midweek, but only PSG came away with all three points, coming from behind to beat Tottenham 5-3.
Monaco drew 2-2 at Pafos, and their defensive problems continue to show. They have been on the wrong end of two 4-1 scorelines in their last two Ligue 1 outings.
It is hard to see them keeping PSG out, but Monaco have enough going forward to contribute as well, which makes this bet appealing at the price.
Betting Tip: PSG to Win & Both Teams To Score - 13/8 10bet
Auxerre have been poor away from home this season, with their only point coming at Rennes in a match where they were largely second best.
Paris FC won’t offer any relief either. They have already beaten Lorient and Metz, so it is no surprise they are strong favourites to see off another bottom-three side here.
At 5/6, I am happy to side with the hosts.
Betting Tip: Paris FC to Win - 5/6 Coral
The Stade Velodrome has been the place to be for Ligue 1 goals this season. Marseille have produced home wins of 6-2, 5-2, 4-0 and, most recently, a 3-0 victory over Brest.
Toulouse’s away matches haven’t been nearly as lively, but they have yet to visit any of the top three. When they faced PSG at home, they were beaten 6-3.
Marseille look well set to rack up more goals here and extend their excellent home record.
Betting Tip: Marseille to Win & Over 2.5 Goals - 6/4 Betway
Strasbourg have been highly efficient at home this season, with all five of their wins coming to nil. Their only defeat at Stade de la Meinau came against second-placed Marseille, which is hardly a concern.
That sets them up well for a visit from Brest, who have struggled on the road, losing four of six and failing to score in three of those matches.
At 17/20, Strasbourg are more than a fair price to continue their reliable home form. I wouldn’t put anyone off backing the Win to Nil at 12/5, but I’ll keep it simple and take the match odds.
Betting Tip: Strasbourg to Win - 17/20 BetMGM
Nice are the only team in the top half of Ligue 1 with a negative goal difference, having conceded 23 goals in 13 matches under Franck Haise.
Lorient may be down in 16th, but they have shown flashes at home, scoring in every game and taking points off PSG, Rennes and Monaco.
This is two capable attacks facing two shaky defences, so over 2.5 goals looks a very fair play at the current price.
Betting Tip: Over 2.5 Goals - 20/23 QuickBet
Angers’ start to the season isn’t as poor as it looks. They’ve faced five of the top seven away from home and came out of that run with only one point, which is understandable given the opposition.
Their home form has been solid, with three wins and two draws from six at the Raymond Kopa Stadium. Lens have conceded in all but one of their away games, so this has the makings of a competitive fixture.
Betting Tip: Both Teams to score - 31/40 Betway
Le Havre have been a tough nut to crack at Stade Oceane. They lost their home opener to Lens, but since then they’ve won two and drawn three, coming out ahead on xG in every one of those matches.
With that in mind, it was a surprise to see LOSC priced odds-on to take all three points. They’ve lost three of their last four away from home, so they are not a side I’d be rushing to trust at that price.
Betting Tip: Le Havre Double Chance - 19/20 10bet
The underlying numbers suggest Nantes probably have more away points than their performances merit this season, while Lyon have been fully deserving of the 12 points they’ve taken from six home matches.
Lyon’s games at Groupama Stadium have generally been low scoring, with only one going over 4.5 goals - the recent defeat to PSG. They have drawn too many lately, but this looks a good opportunity for them to get back to winning ways.
Betting Tip: Lyon to Win & Under 4.5 Goals - 5/6 Betway
