Liverpool look lost

After Liverpool's earlier slump in the season, back-to-back wins against Aston Villa and Real Madrid was meant to be their turning point. But that good run of form was short lived.

Man City battered Arne Slot's side 3-0 at the Etihad, and when Liverpool had the chance to rectify that result and performance post the international break, they delivered one which was even worse.

A second 3-0 defeat in a row is unheard of for Liverpool - but it was completely deserved. There was no shape, organisation or evident tactics against Nottingham Forest and now Slot is under serious pressure.

They may have won three of their four Champions League matches, but not many Liverpool fans will be in a confident mood heading into this fixture.

PSV will be hopeful

PSV's Champions League campaign has been a rollercoaster - and quite difficult to predict. A crushing 3-1 home defeat against Union SG was followed up with a solid point on the road against Bayer Leverkusen.

Not many would have predicted a shock 6-2 win against Napoli, before rescuing a point in stoppage time against an Olympiacos side that hasn't lost at home in the entirety of 2025.

And so PSV head to Anfield on the back of an 11 match unbeaten run since that defeat to Union SG, where they have scored at least four goals in four of those games.

With so much attacking quality on display, PSV will be licking their lips having watched Liverpool be carved open time and time again.

PSV beat Liverpool 3-2 at home in last year's Champions League group stage, their first ever competitive win against the English champions. These two sides had previously faced off on six occasions, with Liverpool winning five of those.

Both defeats against Man City and Nottingham Forest showed just how many holes are there at the moment within Slot's side - who is under an immense amount of pressure to rectify results and performances.

Liverpool had 13 days to reset over the international break, but came back looking more lost than ever before. At 2/7, it's a price I'm happy to leave alone.

Instead, PSV (15/2 with Betano) might just be the latest side to frustrate Liverpool. And why not? They are 11 games unbeaten, scoring for fun and put six past Napoli. Having also beaten Liverpool on home soil last season, that "fear factor" against a superior side will have certainly reduced.

It would be a brave man to back Liverpool, but perhaps a braver one to back PSV. However, their +1.5 Asian Handicap price at 1/1 stands out. If they only lose by one, we will land another winner.
