Man City must do more

After eight wins on the bounce across all competitions, Man City were stalking Arsenal domestically but just as Mikel Arteta's side were within sight, Guardiola's side have slipped.

Two consecutive draws against Sunderland and managerless Chelsea have seen Arsenal extend their lead to six points and with 18 games left to play, there's work to do if Man City are to come out on top.

After Tijjani Reijnders put Man City ahead inside the first half, it looked as though the hosts were going to find a second and secure the win.

Yet Chelsea fought back bravely and stunned the home crowd in the 94th minute - and for only the second time this season Man City have failed to win in two consecutive matches.

At home, Man City have largely been flawless - and Enzo Fernandez's equaliser will have hurt. But there's no time for the hosts to lick their wounds as Brighton travel north hoping to build on their recent win.

Brighton up against it

Brighton beat Burnley at home at the weekend, ending their unwanted six match winless run. Defeats against Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa may have been expected - but still stung - yet draws vs West Ham and Sunderland would have only frustrated the Seagulls.

Bouncing back to winning ways was a relief, but a trip to the Etihad to face an angry Man City side is far from ideal.

The performance - and result - were both needed at the weekend, but on the road Brighton have fallen short this season.

After their solid 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge, Brighton have only beaten Forest on their travels since (W1 D3 L4). With only two clean sheets within that run, the Seagulls know they must get on the scoresheet if they are to secure a positive result on Wednesday evening.

Brighton haven't lost against Man City since April 2024. Two wins and a draw have since followed, which saw Brighton secure a point at the Etihad last campaign. That was, however, their first ever point at that particular stadium, having previously lost seven times in a row.

With Man City agitated and desperate to get back on track, Brighton may be travelling north at just the wrong time. However, unbeaten in their last three, could a surprise be on the cards?

Rely on Reijnders

Man City (4/11 with Betfred) are inevitably a short price at home to rectify their draw against Chelsea. Coming up against a Brighton side (7/1 with Betano) that has only beaten Burnley since the start of December suggests Guardiola's side will have too much.

However, at a skinny price, it's easy to look elsewhere for a bit of value. And although many will rely on Erling Haaland to score on the night, his Dutch teammate catches the eye.

Tijjani Reijnders has scored three goals in his last three starts - but he's found the target in each of his last five matches reading 1-2-1-1-1. He has been a model of consistency and will no doubt find himself in advanced positions once more when Brighton come to town.

The 27-year-old is 4/5 to have just one shot on target, and set to start once again, the price is far better than banking on Man City winning at 4/11. Good luck if you're following.
