After losing 3-1 against Brentford, Man United have gone five games unbeaten, including wins over Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton. Two draws on their travels have followed, but rescuing a late point against Spurs would have felt like a win for those travelling fans.

As a result, Man United are now firmly in the conversation for Champions League football - a question that certainly wasn't being raised last campaign.

The Red Devils invested heavily in the summer but certain signings are already proving to be good business. That certainly applies to Bryan Mbeumo, who has scored five Premier League goals in 11 appearances since his move from Brentford.

With the squad clicking for the first time during Amorim's reign, Man United fans are starting to feel confident their club can get back on track.

Everton lacking consistency

A three match winless run came to an end prior to the international break when the Toffees came out on top 2-0 against Fulham.

Two defeats without scoring against Man City and Tottenham may have been expected, but a draw at the Stadium of Light vs high-flying Sunderland stopped the rot.

Similar to Man United, Everton are in a much better situation this season compared to last, where a second win on the bounce could lift them to 9th place come the end of the weekend.

Performances on the road, however, must improve having collected four points from a possible 15 - only narrowly beating Wolves 3-2 back in August.

This fixture last season saw Man United run riot. Amorim's side won 4-0 thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkee - although the former is now on loan at Barcelona.

The reverse fixture ended 2-2, although Everton did throw a 2-0 lead in that match. Everton head into this match having failed to beat Man United since 2022 - a run stretching over eight games.
