Marseille will look to add to their two home Champions League wins when they welcome Liverpool to the Velodrome on Wednesday evening. The visitors, however, will be a tough nut to crack as Arne Slot's side are currently on a 12 match unbeaten run.
Ahead of the encounter in France, our football expert Nathan Joyes has analysed the Champions League odds and provided his best bet within.
With just two Champions League matches remaining, Marseille will likely need to bank at least one more win in order to qualify for the next stage.
Having beaten Newcastle and Ajax in front of their supporters, the French outfit will be in a confident mood ahead of this tricky looking tie.
Domestically, recent form has been hit and miss. Comfortable wins over Bayeux in the Coupe de France were expected, but defeats against Nantes and PSG have shown a lack of consistency to their game at present.
However, Marseille head into this clash on the back of a 5-2 win against Angers, and having scored 22 goals in their last five matches, the hosts won't be looking to camp inside their own half when Liverpool come to town.
Liverpool are proving incredibly difficult to beat at present. In fact, they haven't been beaten since November last year - although that was a heavy 4-1 loss against PSV in this competition.
Yet despite being unbeaten in 12, half of those were draws - two of which were goalless. And after a routine win against Barnsley in the FA Cup, fans would have been rather frustrated for throwing away a lead and drawing to Burnley at Anfield on Saturday.
But since Liverpool's 3-0 loss to Man City at the Etihad, Arne Slot's side have looked rather comfortable on their travels. (W3 D3). Not only did Liverpool beat Inter 1-0 at the San Siro, they also beat Spurs and held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw at the Emirates.
There's still work to be done, but defensively Liverpool look miles better than earlier in the campaign - which bodes well against a free scoring Marseille outfit.
Marseille and Liverpool haven't met since 2008 and so there isn't much to go on when it comes to recent form. Liverpool have won two of their three trips to the south of France, with Marseille last beating the English champions back in 2007 - at Anfield - thanks to Mathieu Valbuena's second half strike.
Marseille will be keen to not take their qualification to the final round, but Liverpool have proven tough to beat on their travels in recent months. With a win at the San Siro under their belts, Slot's side will look to get the job done in France and climb into the top eight.
Nathan Joyes has analysed the Champions League betting and puts forward his strongest fancy.
Marseille (2/1 with Betfred) will have their supporters but it's safe to say they were gifted the points when Newcastle came to town and Ajax have been awful in the Champions League.
Atalanta left France with the victory but also missed a penalty and had a goal disallowed - the Italians dominated the match for large periods. And domestically, Nantes recently came away from the Velodrome with the win and a clean sheet. Marseille haven't quite been at their best.
On the other hand, Liverpool (9/10 with Betano) have been far better on their travels. Not only did they beat an Inter side that doesn't lose often at the San Siro, but in their recent draws have been minutes away from maximum points.
If Slot's defence can remain focused throughout the 90 minutes, there's enough quality at the other end of the pitch to put this game to bed and leapfrog into the top eight. The visitors are stronger man for man, and Marseille have shown too many weaknesses of late that Liverpool can exploit.
