Hosts will be worried

Goals have been a constant when Monaco are involved this season - although not often at the right end if you were to ask their fans.

Having been battered 4-1 by Club Brugge, Monaco did respond with a 5-2 win against Metz. But it was yet another case of one step forward and two back, as the French club head into this clash on the back of a 3-1 defeat against Lorient.

In their last five matches, there have been a total of 24 goals - and worryingly, half of those have gone in their own net.

There's plenty of attacking talent on show at Monaco but those in behind are simply not up to the challenge at present.

Man City looking strong

In contrasting form, Man City head into this fixture unbeaten in five (W4 D1) only dropped points against Arsenal away from home.

Two previous wins to nil against Man United and Napoli at home have been followed up with convincing wins against Huddersfield and Burnley - and although those two sides aren't on the same level as Monaco, the French outfit will be worried.

That's because Guardiola's side have scored 13 goals - conceding just one - heading into this match, and are among the favourites to win the Champions League.

If Man City continue to find their groove, Monaco could be in for a long evening.

As mentioned, both teams are scoring for fun at the moment - but it's Monaco's weak looking defence that will cost them. Their 4-1 away loss in Brugge humbled them, and although they bounced back, it was only temporary.

In the final third, Monaco have the players and the system to hurt Man City - but their need to pick up points, especially at home, could see them vulnerable on the counter.

It's almost impossible to stop Erling Haaland when he gets into gear, and the fact he's scored in his last seven matches shows why he is the best striker on the planet at present.

The game could quickly become end-to-end, but that will suit the visitors just fine, and although goals will come, there's a reason why Man City are favourites. Still, Monaco will have their moments and they can certainly get on the scoresheet.
