It will come as no surprise, but Chelsea have sacked yet another manager.
Liam Rosenior was sacked this week after just 107 days into a six-and-a-half-year contract at Stamford Bridge. Eyebrows were raised when Rosenior was named as Chelsea boss following the sacking of Enzo Maresca, but he started well and it looked like a perfect match.
Rosenior guided Chelsea to four successive wins in the Premier League and they advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Then it all fell apart.
The Chelsea owners had enough following a 3-0 away defeat at Brighton as the Blues crashed to five consecutive Premier League defeats - a run that has seen them fail to score in any of those defeats.
The Blues are in danger of missing out on a Champions League place for next season, and the owners have opted to make a change now in a bid to rescue their campaign.
Calum McFarlane steps into the breach as interim manager for the second time this season. It is very doubtful that McFarlane will get the job full-time, as Chelsea will want a big name to appease their supporters.
Below is the current betting odds list for the next permanent manager of Chelsea with odds provided by BetMGM.
It has been reported that Chelsea do not have a shortlist to replace Rosenior as manager, as they are believed to be taking their time in order to get the man they want.
Calum McFarlane will take the reigns for now and he will probably see the rest of the season yet, but he will not be taken seriously as a permanent replacement.
Chelsea might not publicly reveal a shortlist, but that does not stop bookmakers from speculating and producing a list of odds. Below we briefly discuss who could be in the mix,
Andoni Iraola recently announced that he would be leaving his role as Bournemouth manager at the end of the season. The 43-year-old will be in demand with Manchester United and Crystal Palace searching for new permanent managers, while teams in his native Spain could be interested with Athletic Bilbao a possibility.
Cesc Fabregas is well known in English football following spells at Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premier League. Fabregas is currently in his first role as a manager as he in charge of Serie A side Como in Italy. He was initially named as interim manager of Como when they were in Serie B. He was in charge for six matches and recorded three wins, two draws and one loss to take Como from seventh to second and promotion to Serie A. He got the job full time in July 2024. Fabregas won the Premier League twice with the BLues, and he would probably be a favourite amongst the fans.
Edin Terzic might not be a household name in English football, but he has experience in the German Bundesliga and his style might suit Chelsea. Terzic has experience in the Premier League as he was assistant manager at West Ham United under Slaven Bilic between 2015 and 2017. Terzic has had two spells as manager of Borussia Dortmund, but he left the German giants by his own request in June 2024.
Felipe Luis is familiar with Stamford Bridge having played 15 times for the Blues following his £15.8 million move from Atletico Madrid. His time was brief at Chelsea, but he did play a part in the Blues winning the Premier League in the 2014-15 season. His time in management has seen him work his way up through the ranks at Flamengo. He coached the Under 17s and Under 20s before becoming first team manager in 2024. Luis helped Flamengo win the Copa Libertadores, the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A, Supercopa do Brasil and Copa do Brasil. He parted company with Flamengo in March 2026, which means Chelsea would not need to pay a release fee.
