Arsenal won their fifth match in a row across all competitions at the weekend - including their fourth clean sheet from those games.

Having conceded just one since their draw against Man City, Arteta's side have been incredibly strong defensively - showing signs this could be the season they land some silverware.

It's a familiar story in the Champions League, too. After two 2-0 wins against Athletic Bilbao and Olympiacos, Arsenal will be looking to go one further than their semi-final exit last season.

Atletico difficult to break down

Atletico Madrid will provide Arsenal's toughest test in the Champions League - who also head into this fixture on a strong unbeaten run themselves.

After a narrow 1-0 win over Osasuna, Simeone's side made it eight matches unbeaten since their last minute defeat against Liverpool. But they bounced back in style - which included a 5-2 hammering against their arch-rivals Real Madrid.

They hammered Frankfurt 5-1 last time out in the Champions League - and Arsenal will know they will have their work cut out when the Spaniards arrive in town.

These two sides haven't met since 2018 where Atletico Madrid came out on top on penalties in the International Champions Cup. The last time these two clashed in a competitive fixture was earlier that year in the Europa League.

After a 1-1 draw at the Emirates, Atletico Madrid edged past the Gunners 1-0 on home soil. You have to go back to 2009 the last time Arsenal beat the Spanish side (1-0).

Arguably it should have been four draws and one loss but Liverpool's late, late winner from a corner saw them leave Anfield with no points - and the same could be repeated at the Emirates.

Arsenal are dangerous from set pieces - and with the clean sheets racking up - it may only take one or two goals to pinch the points.
