Northern Ireland welcome Slovakia to Belfast on Saturday evening hoping to return to winning ways. After a successful mission in Luxembourg, Northern Ireland fell short against Germany in Cologne - and now they face Group A's leaders.
Will they bounce back? Read UK football tipster Nathan Joyes' match analysis with some bookmaker football odds.
Northern Ireland delivered the perfect away day result against Luxembourg in round one. After taking the lead in the seventh minute, Luxembourg fought back but two goals in the second half secured three vital points for the travelling nation.
And at half-time against Germany, Northern Ireland fans were beginning to dream. Isaac Price's equaliser cancelled out Serge Gnabry's opener but second half strikes from Nadiem Amiri and Liverpool's Florian Wirtz burst their bubble.
Still, Northern Ireland have shown they fear no one and have delivered two excellent displays so far. But they will need to deliver another one if they are to compete in next year's World Cup - and Slovakia are up next.
Slovakia delivered the perfect performance against a lacklustre German side in round one, before squeezing past Luxembourg in the final minute of the match.
Still, despite that poor performance, Slovakia are two from two, sit top of Group A and are yet to concede. A win against Northern Ireland will put them six points clear with three games left - and a point or better against Germany should see them qualify directly for the World Cup.
The incentive is there - but a much better performance than the one they delivered against Luxembourg is required if they are to win this one.
These two nations have clashed on no less than four occasions - and it's not good news for Northern Irish supporters. That's because Slovakia have won two of the four meetings back in 2008 and 2009 before sharing a 0-0 draw in 2016.
Another draw took place in 2020, before Slovakia won in extra-time in a Euro qualification play-off match. Northern Ireland will certainly be seeking redemption five years later for that defeat.
Northern Ireland will know that a defeat isn't an option if they want to make the 2026 World Cup - but securing a win against a Slovakia team that has already beaten Germany will prove extremely difficult. Read Nathan's best bet for the match in Belfast.
Yes, Northern Ireland have looked good in both matches. Three goals against Luxembourg, before holding Germany to a draw until the 69th minute - but there's just something about this Slovakia side that looks appealling.
Their performance against Germany - at home - was outstanding. They punished the Germans for their sluggish performance and collected three unexpected points.
Admittedly, their next performance for 70-75 minutes wasn't great. But so many times you see teams struggle after a big result - yet they dug deep and scored right at the death to win back-to-back matches.
And there is quality throughout this Slovakian side that Northern Ireland may struggle to contain. Throw in the fact Northern Ireland have never beaten them, it makes the visitors draw no bet price look very appealing.
They have yet to concede and have scored three goals - there's plenty to like and the bookmakers have been lenient once more with their price. Back the visitors to strike - and if they draw - you'll receive your stake back.
