Premier League Acca Tips With BetMGM

Arsenal made the perfect start to their Premier League title defence last weekend, easing to a 3-0 victory over newly promoted Coventry City in the curtain-raiser.

There are sterner tests ahead for Mikel Arteta’s men, including Monday night’s trip to Villa Park. Aston Villa have won three of their last six meetings with the Gunners, but they may not be well equipped to extend that impressive record after beginning the campaign with a disastrous 4-0 defeat at Brighton.

Arsenal’s nearest rivals in the outright market, Manchester City, also collected three points, although in far less convincing fashion. Enzo Maresca’s team came from behind to beat Bournemouth courtesy of a stoppage-time winner and will be seeking a more assured showing at Crystal Palace this weekend.

Chelsea were easy on the eye during their victory over Fulham, albeit with some defensive concerns for Xabi Alonso to address. Liverpool, meanwhile, snatched a late point at Newcastle United and have since agreed a deal for Bradley Barcola, who is set to become their third £100 million-plus arrival across two summer transfer windows.

The biggest shock of the first round came at Hull City, where Manchester United suffered a dismal 2-0 defeat against a club widely considered the weakest in the division before a ball was kicked. The Red Devils have an immediate chance to respond when they host another of the promoted teams, Ipswich Town.

Premier League tipster Ben Smith has selected a five-leg accumulator from this weekend’s action. All selections are available with BetMGM, who are offering competitive Premier League odds across the board.

Crystal Palace v Manchester City - Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals (49/50)

It is easy to look at the way Crystal Palace’s squad has been decimated in recent months, factor in the departure of Oliver Glasner and a 2-0 defeat at Everton, and conclude that they are in serious trouble both on Friday night and over the longer term.

However, there were positives to take from their visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Palace created four big chances to Everton’s one, won the expected-goals battle and deserved to take something from the game.

They still have some decent options at their disposal and should not be written off too quickly under Pierre Sage, who consistently got more from his Lens squad than might reasonably have been expected.

Palace can cause Manchester City problems, just as Bournemouth did last weekend. Maresca’s team looked poor without the ball against the Cherries and, when that vulnerability is combined with their considerable attacking firepower, there is potential for a high-scoring contest.

Liverpool v Nottingham Forest - Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals (49/50)

Liverpool are going to be hugely entertaining to watch this term. Their clash with Newcastle featured 40 shots, more than 4.5 expected goals, eight yellow cards and plenty of drama from start to finish.

Their approach, whether by design or simply a consequence of the personnel available, appears to be all-out attack. The full-backs push high up the pitch, while central-midfield pairing Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai look to get forward at every opportunity. This gives Liverpool plenty in the final third but leaves them exposed in defensive transition whenever they lose possession.

Nottingham Forest can capitalise on that imbalance. They have won on their last two trips to Anfield and will fancy their prospects of troubling Liverpool again.

There are no guarantees that Forest will take anything from the match, but we can be reasonably confident that they will contribute to the scoring.

Tottenham Hotspur v Newcastle United - Yoane Wissa to Score or Assist (8/5)

Yoane Wissa’s first year at Newcastle was effectively a write-off. An early knee injury severely disrupted him following a £55 million move, and he finished with only one goal from 13 Premier League appearances.

However, his contribution against Liverpool made him look, as the cliché goes, like a new signing. Operating in the No. 10 role, Wissa repeatedly exploited the space in front of their defence, finding pockets between the lines and playing a pivotal part in Newcastle’s attacking threat. He registered four shots and created one opening for a teammate.

Tottenham also looked defensively shaky in their first fixture, and Wissa should find further opportunities to make an impact. His price to score or assist appeals.

Chelsea v Brighton - Cole Palmer to Score or Assist (21/20)

Cole Palmer looked back to his best against Fulham, recording a goal and an assist as Chelsea claimed a 3-2 victory.

Given greater freedom under Xabi Alonso, he combined fluently with Joao Pedro and Morgan Rogers and was involved in much of Chelsea’s most dangerous play.

Palmer appears to have benefited from a full summer’s rest and looks a strong candidate to score or assist against Brighton.

Manchester United v Ipswich Town - Man United to Win & Over 2.5 Goals (24/25)

Manchester United can hardly be any worse than they were against Hull City on Saturday. Major improvement is required here, and Michael Carrick has some relatively obvious changes available to help produce it.

Marcus Rashford was one of the few bright sparks after coming off the bench, while Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo were both managed carefully following their late returns from the World Cup. All three should now start and help the Red Devils secure their first points of the campaign.
