Liverpool vs Wolves - Liverpool to Win & Under 3.5 Goals (57/50)

It is still too early to say Liverpool’s problems are fully resolved, but recent results suggest they are moving in the right direction. Victories over Inter, Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur have lifted confidence, even if the latest win raised fresh questions.

The 2-0 success against Spurs came at a cost, with record signing Alexander Isak suffering a broken leg while scoring the opener. Despite playing most of the match against 10 men and facing nine late on, Liverpool still allowed Tottenham to threaten a comeback, which will have concerned Arne Slot.

They now face bottom-side Wolverhampton Wanderers as clear favourites. Wolves, however, showed resilience in their most recent away match, pushing Arsenal all the way before losing to a stoppage-time own goal. Notably, they have avoided heavy defeats on the road, with every away fixture producing fewer than four goals, despite trips to four current top-six sides.

Liverpool should have enough to take the points, but Wolves are capable of keeping the scoreline respectable.

Burnley vs Everton - Everton to Win (93/100)

Burnley are among the most depleted sides in the Premier League at the moment. A lengthy injury list has already stretched resources, and matters are not helped by the absence of Lyle Foster, Axel Tuanzebe and Hannibal Mejbri, all of whom are away at AFCON. With a relegation battle already looking difficult, hopes of survival appear to be fading quickly.

Everton are in a very different position. They sit in the top half at Christmas despite suffering back-to-back defeats, neither of which reflected poorly on their performances. They were unfortunate not to score at Chelsea, then lost to a single penalty when hosting league leaders Arsenal last time out.

David Moyes has Jack Grealish available again, which offsets the loss of Iliman Ndiaye to international duty with Senegal. Before the defeat at Stamford Bridge, Everton had won two away matches in a row, and they should have enough quality and organisation to overcome a struggling Burnley at Turf Moor.

Chelsea vs Aston Villa - Aston Villa Double Chance (4/5)

This is an interesting betting heat, with Chelsea priced as odds-on favourites despite sitting seven points behind visitors Aston Villa.

Villa have been the league’s biggest overperformers when measured against expected goals, although that data does not fully account for the quality of the players finishing those chances. Few attackers in England are currently delivering at a higher level than Morgan Rogers, whose end product has been sensational.

Unai Emery’s side are not without flaws, particularly at the back, but they remain effective going forward. With them being odds-against to simply earn a point, backing Villa to avoid defeat looks the straightforward option.

Sunderland vs Leeds - Both Teams to Score (10/11)

Sunderland look well clear of relegation trouble, and while the same cannot quite be said for Leeds United yet, they are heading that way. Daniel Farke’s side were excellent at the weekend, not only beating Crystal Palace but completely controlling the contest, giving Palace very little until the result was beyond doubt.

Sunderland’s progress has largely been built on defensive discipline. The Black Cats have recorded back-to-back Premier League clean sheets, and only Arsenal and Manchester City have conceded fewer goals across the 2025/26 campaign.

Keeping Leeds quiet, however, is a big challenge, even away from home, where results have not always followed performances. Their early road struggles masked how well they were playing, but that has changed recently. Leeds have scored in their last three away matches, with both teams scoring in each. The same outcome has landed in five of Sunderland’s eight home games, making the price on BTTS look generous.

Crystal Palace vs Tottenham - Crystal Palace to Win (6/5)

Tottenham showed some resistance in the second half of their defeat to Liverpool, but it is difficult to view that as any real progress. Ultimately, it was another disappointing performance and a poor response to the 3-0 loss against relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest the previous week.

Bouncing back is now the key task for Crystal Palace, who are winless in four matches across all competitions and have been beaten by three-goal margins in each of their last two league outings.

That said, there is still a sense of stability under Oliver Glasner. Difficult spells at Selhurst Park have not tended to linger during his time in charge. Palace’s last four-game winless run in October was followed by four wins from five, and it would be no surprise to see them spark another productive run here.
