The final international break of 2025 is over, and the Premier League returns with a bang, with the first North London derby of the season headlining the weekend.
Arsenal’s lead at the top was cut to four points in the last round of fixtures, as they were held at Sunderland while Manchester City comfortably saw off Liverpool.
Premier League tipster Ben Smith has put together a five-leg accumulator for this weekend’s matches, which get underway on Saturday, 22nd and finish on Monday, 24th November. All selections are with Betway, who offer a wide range of Premier League odds across a breadth of markets.
Liverpool looked to be moving in the right direction after home wins against Aston Villa and Real Madrid, raising hopes that they had finally put their nightmare run behind them.
That optimism faded quickly at the Etihad, where they were well beaten by Manchester City and slipped back into some familiar problems.
Mohamed Salah struggled again after briefly showing signs of improvement, while Hugo Ekitike had little influence on the game.
Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, have much more about them under Sean Dyche. They have scored five goals in their last two league matches and will feel they can cause problems at Anfield, where they won last season.
There has been a nervousness about Liverpool at home. Forest are good enough to exploit that and find the net.
Crystal Palace have slowed after a sharp start to the season, but they still look a tough first assignment for Rob Edwards at Molineux. Wolves are already eight points from safety with only two points collected from 11 matches, and their defensive record at home is a real worry.
They have conceded 14 goals in five games at Molineux, which is not ideal when facing an in-form attacking pair in Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaila Sarr.
Palace’s return of five points from their last five league games does not reflect how well they have actually played. One of those defeats was a narrow 1-0 loss at Arsenal, and their displays in other competitions have been excellent, including a 3-0 win at Anfield. At the prices, Palace look worth backing.
Erling Haaland arrives at St James’ Park in remarkable form, and it feels fitting that a striker performing at this level will be at the World Cup in North America next summer.
He helped Norway take maximum points in Group I of the European qualifying process, scoring twice against Estonia and then producing another brace in a 4-1 triumph in Italy. That takes him to 32 goals for club and country this season, an astonishing total that shows no sign of slowing.
Manchester City are extra reliant on him this term, and he is an obvious threat again, even against a tough opponent. Until his anytime scorer price drops to a point where it loses appeal, he remains a straightforward selection each week.
Arsenal did not need another injury with their squad already stretched, and losing Gabriel Magalhaes adds to a list that includes Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres.
They are at least well covered at centre-back, and Piero Hincapie can come in without disrupting much, but Gabriel’s leadership and set-piece threat will be missed.
Despite the absences further forward, Arsenal have still carried a threat, largely due to Bukayo Saka’s increased output. The England winger is taking more shots than he was earlier in the campaign and now averages three attempts per ninety minutes.
He has scored three times in his last four appearances, and with penalty duty also working in our favour, he looks a great bet to find the net in the North London derby.
Everton seem to have settled well into their new home, but their away form still needs work. Four points from five road games is not disastrous, given two of those were at Liverpool and Manchester City, yet their displays against newly promoted Leeds United and Sunderland were somewhat concerning.
They took the lead at the Stadium of Light in their most recent away outing but were fortunate to leave with a draw, creating very little after the break and registering just one second-half shot.
A Monday night trip to Old Trafford looks a difficult task against a Manchester United side who, while still inconsistent, have finally found some punch in attack. They have scored twice in each of their last five league matches and look a fair pick to round off this acca.
