Premier League betting insights for fixtures on 12-14 September 2026

The opening three rounds of the Premier League have proven to be a formality for the champions and contenders, yet difficult for others. Both Arsenal and Man City have won all of their matches, while relegation candidates Fulham and Coventry have yet to register a single point.

However, not every club has followed what the bookmakers predicted. Hull are unbeaten and have kept three clean sheets, Man United have started in a sluggish manner while Spurs spent big this summer yet can’t seem to buy a win.

Our resident football tipster Nathan Joyes has dived into the early rounds, provided his thoughts on the stats and data, and highlighted early trends to watch and general betting advice worth noting.

Premier League draw betting

Last weekend, there were six draws from the 10 matches. Of the four winners, three of the winning goals were decided before the 50th minute. Only Crystal Palace’s 3-2 comeback vs Fulham was later (77th).

So what does that tell us and how can we profit from it? Are teams tiring earlier after a shorter off-season break? Are new players still taking time to settle in? After all, there are nine new managers in the dugout this campaign.

That has added an unknown quantity to previous editions who are either struggling to work out how opponents are setting up or unwilling to take any early gambles.

Preparation post World Cup can often be limited, and therefore impacted, which is why we have yet to see many free-flowing games and why the draws rolled in last weekend.

With teams being more cautious, there looks to be value backing the draw no bet option instead of looking for the 1x2 market. Bournemouth, for example, are 4/5with  UK bookmakers on that line against Brentford and they have only lost two of their last 30 at home.

That added protection could be worth chancing after the Cherries won 4-0 midweek vs Lincoln and regained some confidence.

Three teams have yet to find the back of the net after three rounds. Coventry were expected to struggle, especially having faced Arsenal and Man City, but Aston Villa and Spurs, who have much higher expectations, have struggled to create anything meaningful.

Perhaps that has changed for Aston Villa who won 3-2 on the road against Club Brugge in the Champions League midweek - although once again their inability to defend may prove costly.

Unai Emery’s side face Nottingham Forest at home on Saturday, who themselves have failed to score in two of their three opening Premier League matches, and their penalty vs Liverpool has recently been determined it should not have been given.

So, will Aston Villa build on their midweek win? The market doesn’t suggest it will be easy for them, but Emery’s side are 6/5 favourites with BetMGM to come out on top.

Spurs host an unbeaten Everton side, but the market is supporting them at 1/1 to finally get up and running at the fourth attempt.

Coventry are up against it once more with a home match vs Brighton. The Seagulls lost their sole away game to date despite scoring three past Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and they are odds-against at 5/6 to pile more pressure onto Frank Lampard.

Premier League clean sheet betting

Favourites to finish bottom before a ball was kicked, not many would have predicted Hull’s phenomenal start to the new campaign. Not only are they unbeaten, beating Man United and holding Aston Villa, but they are also yet to concede.

At some point, sadly for the Tigers fans, this will come to an end, and that could come against Chelsea this weekend in the capital.

Xabi Alonso’s side have had no issues scoring in their first three games, scoring eight goals, despite losing 2-1 to Arsenal at the Emirates last weekend.

Chelsea are as short as 1/4 according to the betting odds to score over 1.5 match goals, and so there’s reason to believe both teams to score no at 10/11 could provide much better value with the Tigers currently exceeding expectations.

Arsenal have only conceded one goal, who venture north to face Sunderland after a midweek trip to Naples in the Champions League. Last season they conceded two, although the market is suggesting both teams to score no is the play at 5/8. It’s worth pointing out, however, that Sunderland have scored in all three Premier League games to date, and that odds-on price looks a little short.

It’s still incredibly early on in the season, but the next few rounds will help the Premier League to take further shape. This weekend, the draw no bet option may be worth exploring with four games pricing both teams at odds-against, as the bookmakers continue to play it safe.
