Premier League Fixtures Out; Arsenal Edging Man City In Title Odds

Key Points
  • Arsenal begin 26/27 campaign at home to Coventry City
  • Gunners deemed favourites to regain the title
  • Manchester City entertain Bournemouth in opening league game

The Premier League fixtures for the 2026/27 campaign have been released, and Arsenal will take on newly-promoted Coventry City in the curtain raiser, while title rivals Manchester City will entertain Bournemouth.

After ending a 22-year wait to become champions last season, Mikel Arteta’s charges would relish the opportunity of going back-to-back. But it’s the odds market which reveals clues as to where the smart money could lie.

Premier League title odds latest

According to many of the UK’s biggest betting operators, the Gunners are fancied to mount a successful title defence. At BetMGM, the North London outfit are trading at a short 6/4, giving them an advantage in the outright market.

City are trailing at 5/2 with the same bookmaker, while Bwin are offering odds of 11/2 on Liverpool and 6/1 for Manchester United. Elsewhere, Chelsea can be backed at 10/1, while Aston Villa are at an eye-catching 25/1.

All change at the top

Perhaps what is most significant is that the managerial landscape will be hugely different next season. Many of the top sides have carried out dugout changes, including Liverpool, who replaced Arne Slot last month following a dismal campaign, with ex-Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola.

Chelsea crashed and burned in the second half of last season, and Xabi Alonso, who was sacked by Real Madrid in January, will be tasked with revitalising the Blues. Manchester City, meanwhile, bid farewell to Pep Guardiola after a decade-long spell, and Enzo Maresca is expected to succeed him.

Whereas, Manchester United, who handed Michael Carrick a two-year contract, will have to juggle domestic commitments with European football after qualifying for the Champions League. Nevertheless, their first two league games appear very presentable against Hull City and Ipswich Town respectively.

As far as the top four market is concerned, it is surprising Chelsea (11/10) are ahead of Aston Villa (5/2) with BetMGM, given the latter will be at Europe’s top table next term following their Europa League triumph over Freiburg. Liverpool, meanwhile, are 11/25 have nudged ahead of United (1/2), even though the Merseyside giants finished fifth last season, 11 points adrift of the Red Devils.

Rounding up the strugglers

As always, the relegation battle will make for fascinating viewing. Hull, who host United in their opening game, are currently the favourites to go down with the bookies, and bet365 has them at 1/4 to fall through the trapdoor.

Meanwhile, Coventry, who are contesting their first top-flight campaign in 25 years, are at 8/13 to go down with the same operator. Bafflingly, Sunderland, who flourished last season by earning a top-half finish, are attracting odds of 9/4 to drop back into the Championship come May.
