The summer transfer window slammed shut on Tuesday night, and unless some free agents are snapped up, Premier League teams will be working with their squads as they are until the turn of the year.
While the season is in its early stages, with just two games being played by all teams so far, the ins and outs we have seen over the summer months will give us some indication of how teams are positioned for a potential title race or battle for Champions League places this season.

predictions for the top six places in the Premier League, rating each team’s window out of 10.
1st place: Arsenal

The Gunners addressed the issues of finding a midfield partner for Declan Rice when spending £75 million to buy Guimaraes from Newcastle. Konsa should provide sufficient cover for centre-back William Saliba while he’s out injured. The disappointment will be a lack of proven reinforcements in attack, but they seem well placed to defend their title.

2nd place: Chelsea

Window rating: 7/10
Rogers is likely to form a formidable front three with Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro. Meanwhile, Martinez could solve a long-term issue the Blues have had in the goalkeeper position. However, Cucurella and Fernandez are key losses who have not been sufficiently replaced.

3rd place: Manchester City

City have gone all out to replace Rodri by buying a new midfield of Fernandez, Anderson and Ayyoub Bouaddi. With Rodri and Bernardo Silva’s experience leaving the club though, and Enzo Maresca stepping into the vast shoes of Pep Guardiola as manager, they should struggle to reclaim their title.
