There's a mouthwatering Champions League tie taking place on Tuesday as PSG host Bayern in the first leg. Arguably the best two sides in the competition will lock horns under the lights at Parc des Princes, with both looking to steal an advantage before the return leg next week.

PSG must win

PSG have been in good form domestically, winning four of their last five, but Luis Enrique will know his side must take a lead to Germany if they are to have a real chance of reaching the final.

However, their performances in the knockout stage of the competition have been nothing short of flawless. An 8-2 aggregate win over Chelsea was followed up with 4-0 vs Liverpool. As impressive as they were in the final third, their two clean sheets were equally important.

Unfortunately for the hosts Vitinha is set to miss out on the first leg with a heel injury, and no doubt his head coach will be hoping he's available for their second leg next week.

Bayern hopeful of repeat result

Bayern made light work of their first knockout match against Atalanta (10-2 on agg) before brushing aside Real Madrid (6-4) after two incredible displays at the Bernabeu and Allianz Arena.

Harry Kane has returned from his injury and continued doing what he does best, scoring five in five - including two against Real Madrid as well as providing an assist. PSG have the near impossible job of attempting to keep him quiet on Tuesday evening.

Vincent Kompany's side head to France having won their last nine matches across all competitions - and haven't lost since the end of January. Confidence will be high but Kompany won't be wanting his side to take too many risks.

PSG vs Bayern H2H

PSG may have beaten Bayern in the Club World Cup but Kompany's men quickly redeemed themselves with a 2-1 in this very competition earlier in the campaign.

Luis Diaz was the hero and the villain in that match with a first half brace before a red card on the stroke of half time. Still, the 10 men hung on to a 2-1 win - their fourth win in their last five meetings against the French side.

As impressive as PSG's wins over Liverpool were, it's fair to say that Arne Slot's side were in terrible form when those fixtures were played. Bayern, beating Real Madrid twice, with six goals, is too good to ignore.

They have a fine record against PSG - only losing in the Club World Cup after a long domestic campaign - and that has every chance of continuing. Factoring in their 2-1 win with 10 men for 45 minutes a few months ago, they could well get their noses in front with 11 on the pitch this time round.
