PSG can flex their muscles

After suffering their first Champions League defeat against Bayern, PSG have since returned to Ligue 1 and produced two wins against Lyon and Le Havre. In those matches, the reigning champions scored six goals, looking deadly as ever, and will see their defeat against Bayern as a mere blip.

Their Champions League results prior to that loss had been excellent. PSG hammered Atalanta 4-0, beat Barcelona on the road 2-1 before battering Leverkusen 7-2 in their own back yard.

This star studded side has the capabilities to beat anyone on their day - but they will have to do it once again without Ousmane Dembele who remains injured and will miss this tie.

Still, PSG have scored six and won two games without him, showing their incredible strength in depth.

Spurs are struggling

Spurs head to Paris having suffered three defeats from their last five matches. Both Newcastle and Chelsea beat them to nil before Arsenal blitzed them 4-1 in the North London derby at the weekend.

Confidence will have no doubt taken a knock, and Thomas Frank is losing his supporters rapidly. The former Brentford man has plenty of work to do to rectify a poor run of form.

Spurs are, for now, unbeaten in the Champions League (W2 D2). Wins over Villarreal and Copenhagen were perhaps expected, although disappointing draws against Bodo/Glimt and Monaco will be a cause for concern - especially with bigger and better teams ahead of them.

The visitors are up against it - and not many will be siding with Frank's men to get a result against the champions on the road.

These two sides met in the Super Cup final prior to the season starting, where PSG won on penalties. Spurs took a shock lead and extended that after 48 minutes, but two goals in the final 10 minutes saw PSG come back and show why they are regarded as one of the best teams in world football.

PSG to win with ease

PSG (1/3 with Betfred) are a short price to make light work against an underperforming Spurs side in round five - and it's difficult to argue with the bookmakers.

The French champions have battered Leverkusen and Atalanta - as well as registered an away win against Barcelona so far - and it's safe to say all of their opponents have been far stronger than who Tottenham have faced.

PSG's price may have been even shorter if Spurs (8/1 with Betano) had faced similar ranked teams to PSG, because there's no doubt Spurs would not have picked up two wins from those matches.

They look completely out of sorts heading to Paris and there won't be many confident punters backing the visitors - no matter how big their price is.

The hosts will want to show a stronger performance than their Super Cup win over Spurs in the summer, and a comfortable two goal margin win - even without Dembele - stands out.
