The El Classico takes centre stage in Spain this weekend as Real Madrid welcome Barcelona to the Bernabeu. Both teams head into this huge clash on the back of success in the Champions League, but who will be top of the table on Sunday afternoon?
Nathan Joyes talks you through this mouthwatering match, providing his betting tip and some of the best La Liga betting odds.
After four wins on the bounce Real Madrid head into the El Classico full of confidence that they cna pull five points clear of their rivals.
Plenty has been learnt from their 5-2 defeat against Atletico Madrid, scoring 10 goals since as well as picking up three clean sheets in the process.
That success has largely been down to Kylian Mbappe who scored in 11 straight matches before eventually drawing a blank against Juventus - where Jude Bellingham stepped up and scored the only goal of the match.
With little to no fresh injuries to worry about, the hosts have an almost full squad to choose from.
Barcelona, on the other hand, don't. They may have hammered Olympiacos 6-1 midweek, but this fixture will be much more of a test for Hansi Flick's side.
That's because Raphinha, Dani Olmo, Joan Garcia, Gavi and Robert Lewandowski are all sidelined and will miss the trip to the capital.
Instead, the pressure will fall to Lamine Yamal, Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres to lead the line at the Bernabeu.
However, it's not all doom and gloom. Barcelona head into this having won their last two matches without several of those players - and having beaten Real Madrid last time out in May, they may relish their underdog status.
Real Madrid haven't beaten Barcelona in any of their last five head-to-heads (W4 D1). At the Bernabeu, Real Madrid have only won two of their last five clashes against Barcelona, losing the other three.
What is almost guaranteed from recent history is goals, with all five of the last matches in the capital producing over 2.5 goals.
With Barcelona's many injuries, Real Madrid won't have a better opportunity to end their poor form against their rivals. Can they extend their lead at the top of La Liga? Nathan Joyes provides his best bet.
Real Madrid (10/11 with Betfred) have made an excellent start to the campaign with 24 points from nine matches. At home, they have won all four matches, scoring nine and conceding just twice.
Barcelona (9/4 with Betano) have the second best away record - behind Real Madrid - but have noticeably conceded eight in five matches.
With Kylian Mbappe flying at the moment, Barcelona are unlikely to keep a clean sheet - but without their star forwards a the other end of the pitch, Flick's side may fall short due to no fault of their own.
As mentioned, this fixture loves producing goals. Over 2.5 goals has landed in their last 11 meetings - and that is certainly being added to my bet builder.
The other is a safer option. Real Madrid often struggle against Barcelona, but they won't get a better opportunity than this. Adding in Real Madrid double chance creates a solid looking bet.
TIP: Real Madrid double chance and over 2.5 goals at 3/4 with BetMGM.
