Real Madrid's form a concern

Although Real Madrid are well placed in 5th having won four of their five Champions League matches, there are question marks over their current form.

Having won just one of their last five La Liga matches, drawing against Rayo Vallecano, Elche and Girona, Xabi Alonso's side did bounce back with a 3-0 win vs Athletic Bilbao. Yet a 2-0 home defeat against Celta Vigo followed, and clearly all is not well on the pitch.

Their last Champions League match saw Real Madrid edge past Olympiacos in Greece, but conceding three against a side that had only scored two from their previous four Champions League matches was a concern.

Something is amiss at Real Madrid at present, and they will need a much better performance if they are to beat their next opponent.

Man City making moves

There was little surprise to see that 10 changes to their starting XI saw Leverkusen take advantage last time out - and Man City fans will be hoping Guardiola doesn't mess around in Madrid.

His team have bounced back with three Premier League wins on the bounce, scoring 11 goals in the process, albeit conceding six within those games too.

But those three wins have lifted Man City to 2nd in the league and now head to Spain's capital with a spring in their step - especially with the hosts inconsistent form on display.

Guardiola has no fresh injuries to worry about ahead of their trip to Spain, with his strongest XI expected to line up that should see Jeremy Doku, Rayan Cherki and Erling Haaland lead the line.

This is their 15th meeting since 2012 - and it is a fixture that has produced plenty of crackers along the way. Real Madrid won 3-1 the last time these sides clashed in February, but more interestingly for punters is that both teams have scored in the last five meetings at the Bernabeu.

With just two wins from their last five, this is unknown territory for Real Madrid.

However, it is important to point out that Real Madrid have only played one of those matches at home, where they have largely been consistent.

Before their defeat against Celta Vigo, Alonso's side had won eight in a row. It isn't panic stations just yet.

Man City (13/8 with Betano) will head to Spain in a confident mood after their trio of wins. However, it is just one clean sheet from their last five on the road for Guardiola's side, who conceded four against Fulham after racing into a 5-1 lead.

This fixture often produces goals - and over 3.5 at odds-against appeals having landed in four of their last five meetings.
