There are six fixtures in the Scottish Premiership this weekend, with all 12 top-flight teams in action over the weekend of Saturday 29th to Sunday 30th November. Football tipster Ben Smith has shared his bets and predictions for the upcoming matches.
Hearts had built an impressive run of six straight wins to move eight points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, but they have slowed a little, collecting only one victory from their last four matches. Their first dropped points since August came away to St Mirren. Celtic then showed their typical resilience by taking all three points there in stoppage time last weekend.
Hearts struggled to create much in their home draw with Dundee United. They were a little unfortunate to leave Aberdeen empty-handed on Sunday, although the match turned against them once they allowed the hosts to take the lead. That early setback made the task far tougher.
Motherwell sit fourth and are well placed to take advantage of any nerves from a Hearts team now dealing with the pressure of being genuine title contenders. The hosts have lost only twice all season, with just one defeat at Fir Park, and at the prices they make appeal to avoid defeat in this one, just as they did in the reverse fixture three months ago.

St Mirren are just above even money to win at Dundee, and that feels too short given their last two away performances. They were beaten 3-1 at Dundee United and lost 2-0 at Kilmarnock before that, so backing them at this price does not appeal.
One of their two league wins this season did come against Dundee, but it was far from straightforward, and nothing about their recent form suggests they can simply go there and control the match.
Dundee have won two of their last three at home, and based on how both sides have been playing, they look to have a better chance of taking something from this fixture than the odds suggest.
Betting Tip: Dundee Double Chance - 8/11 Betway
Dundee United’s attack has been effective this season, to the point where they have scored more goals than Rangers through the first 12 matches. They put nine goals past opponents across their first four away games, and while they have slowed slightly in the last couple of outings, they remain a clear threat going forward.
Their defence is the reason they are not higher in the table. The defeats that hurt most were the 2-0 loss at home to Kilmarnock and the 3-0 defeat to Falkirk last week. There has been a goal in both halves in all but one of Dundee United’s fixtures, with the exception being their trip to Hearts, where they were content to protect a point.
Kilmarnock matches usually contain enough goalmouth action to consider the same angle again, so a goal in each half appeals here.
Betting Tip: Goal in Both Halves - 4/5 Betway
Celtic’s win away at Feyenoord on Thursday was significant in terms of their chances of progressing to the Europa League knockouts. It may also end up being Martin O’Neill’s parting result, with the club set to appoint Columbus Crew manager Wilfried Nancy. Whoever takes charge on Sunday will face a demanding assignment against Hibernian, who are not quite in the title picture but remain involved at the upper end of the Scottish Premiership.
Hibs have handled the bottom-half teams well, but they have found it tougher when the level rises. The only point they have taken from top five opposition came against Celtic at Parkhead in a goalless draw, and even then the home side produced 26 shots compared with Hibs’ four.
Celtic should arrive in good spirits after their midweek result, and if they perform with the same authority, they are well placed to come out on top and continue closing the gap in the title race.
Betting Tip: Celtic to Win - 3/4 BetMGM
Rangers maintained their perfect league record under Danny Röhl with a win over Livingston at Ibrox last weekend, though it was anything but straightforward. They followed that by being held to a draw by 10-man Braga on Thursday, which was their first point of the Europa League campaign.
They should have enough to get past Falkirk, who have already lost 3-0 at Hearts and 4-0 at Celtic this term. Even so, it may not be entirely smooth for Rangers, and relying on goals alone has not always been the safest angle with this side.
Combining a Rangers win with under 4.5 goals produces a far more workable price and covers the most likely type of match they tend to deliver in these situations.
Betting Tip: Rangers to Win & Under 4.5 Goals - 17/20 Betway
No team in the league has seen more goals in their matches than Livingston this season, with 40 total goals across their first 13 fixtures. Both teams to score has landed in every one of their home games, which fits with how open their matches tend to be.
None of Aberdeen’s away games have seen BTTS hit, but that does not give a full picture of how their matches have actually played out. Their xG for and against numbers are both noticeably higher than the final scorelines suggest, and it feels as though a more open, higher-scoring run of games is likely for them sooner rather than later.
