Spurs look dreadful

A third defeat in a row - this time against West Ham - have Spurs fans reaching for their pitch forks. Frank is on thin ice and defeat against Dortmund could see the board come knocking on his door.

His saving grace has been his form in the Champions League. Having won all three home matches without conceding, Spurs are in a good position to make it to the next round.

However, wins against Villarreal, Slavia Prague and Copenhagen may have his side in a false position - and much more will be required to edge past their German opponents on Tuesday.

Ben Davies came off injured against West Ham and adds to Spurs' growing current injury crisis, while Pape Sarr is yet to return from AFCON.

Dortmund capable of winning

Dortmund arrive in North London with a spring in their step having won their last two league matches, extending their unbeaten run to seven (W4 D4).

Scoring for fun, the Germans have found the back of the net at least three times in their last three matches - something Frank will be firmly aware of.

More impressively, there have been nine different goalscorers who have found the back of the net within those matches. Dortmund don't simply rely on forward Serhou Guirassy, which is why they are sat in 2nd in the Bundesliga.

With no real injury concerns, Dortmund know a rare win in London could see them take a huge step towards the knockout stage, and why not? Confidence is clearly high.

These two sides haven't met since 2019 but Dortmund haven't enjoyed facing Spurs when they've clashed, losing four of their last five meetings. Dortmund have beaten Spurs away from home but that was back in 2016 in the old Europa League format.

Goals to flow in the capital

Spurs (8/5 with Betfred) simply cannot be trusted at present - no matter how good their Champions League form has been.

Their defeat at the weekend against West Ham confirmed why so many fans want Frank to be sacked - and with so many key players out, it's difficult to know where his next win is going to come from.

Without Richarlison, Sarr, Mohammed Kudus and Dejan Kulusevski, Dortmund (13/8 with Betano) will fancy their chances - despite having conceded 10 in three away matches to date.

But the Germans are scoring for fun, and although their away record against English sides is terrible, they have so many players capable of hurting Spurs - and their scoring spree can continue outside of Germany.

Yet, somehow, Spurs have saved their best football for the Champions League - and they won't want to give up their 100% win ratio on Tuesday. This game could get a little chaotic, and over 2.5 goals looks an attractive play for two attacking sides that are struggling for clean sheets at present.
