After their disappointing defeat against Man City, Liverpool must dust themselves down and head to the only unbeaten home side in the Premier League this season - Sunderland.
The hosts head into this clash on the back of a 3-0 drumming against Arsenal, but by now, we know that the Black Cats are far superior at the Stadium of Light.
Our Premier League expert Nathan Joyes picks out his best selection and provides his thoughts on the match.
The Black Cats are a completely different animal at home and their record in front of their own fans is why they are having a successful campaign.
With seven wins and five draws to their name, this is the longest unbeaten run by a promoted side since the 1977/78 campaign. Sunderland have exceeded expectations.
It's worth noting that four of their five draws have come against sides that started that round above them, knowing when to be defensive minded in order to preserve their incredible home record.
Granit Xhaka remains sidelined, who has missed the last three matches, where his side have lost two of those. Without the Swiss international, Sunderland aren't as strong in the middle of the park.
Liverpool were less than six minutes away from beating Man City but capitulated in dramatic style.
A 93rd minute penalty from Erling Haaland saw Arne Slot's side walk away without any points - leaving many scratching their heads as to what happened in those final moments.
Since losing to Man City in the reverse fixture back in November, Liverpool went seven away matches without defeat (W4 D3) before losing against Bournemouth - also in added time.
And while they have only suffered two defeats in their last 10 matches, Slot needs to make sure his team remain disciplined and concentrate throughout the 90 minutes if they are to take anything against Sunderland.
The reverse fixture saw Sunderland hold Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at Anfield earlier in the campaign. That was their third draw in their last five meetings, although Sunderland haven't beaten Liverpool since 2012. That 1-0 win courtesy of Nicklas Bendtner was at home - and the Black Cats will be hoping for another famous night under the lights on Wednesday.
With Sunderland looking to protect their unbeaten home form and Liverpool hoping to bounce back in style, we're set for an intriguing battle at the Stadium of Light. So who's going to come out on top?
Nathan Joyes has taken a look at the Premier League odds and pulled out his best bet for the match.
Sunderland (7/2 with 247Bet) will attract plenty of attention on home soil but without Xhaka their task against Liverpool does become more challenging.
However, having still not lost against anyone - including when Man City came to town against a depleted Sunderland side due to AFCON - they still didn't come away with all three points and that's telling of how good the hosts have been this season.
The visitors (8/11 with HighBet) are expected to win according to the bookmakers but after a disappointing end to the Man City match and with Dominik Szoboszlai suspended, it isn't going to be easy for Slot to bounce back straight away.
Sunderland tinker their tactics depending on who they are playing, and although they have only beaten one side that were above them in the table at the time at home, they have also secured four draws - and perhaps another one looks likely on Wednesday.
The hosts not to lose catches the eye and Liverpool may be another to come and leave without maximum points.
