Spurs looking solid

Tottenham bounced back from defeat against Aston Villa with a solid 3-0 win on the road vs Everton.

Thomas Frank's side had previously gone seven matches unbeaten prior to that defeat, and currently sat in 3rd spot, it has been a solid start to the campaign.

Goals have dried up in recent weeks for Richarlison but other players are stepping up as Spurs continue to impress.

Micky van de Ven was an unlikely goalscorer against Everton - picking up two goals - but not relying on one individual will be their greatest strength if they are to finish in the top four come Maty.

Chelsea can rectify blip

Chelsea's last minute defeat against high-flying Sunderland has kept them in 9th spot - eight points behind Arsenal who are leading the pack.

However, Enzo Maresca's side bounced back with a narrow 4-3 win against Wolves midweek in the EFL Cup - their fifth win from their last six matches.

Clean sheets have been hard to come by - picking up just two from their last 10 - but goals at the other end of the pitch haven't been an issue.

All eyes have been on Estevao's early progress in the Premier League, while fellow Brazilian Andrey Santos also scored against Wolves. Jamie Gittens scored the winner - and Maresca has plenty of options despite numerous injuries to deal with at present. The joys of a big squad.

Chelsea have won four of the last five meetings, doing the double over them last campaign with a dramatic 4-3 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In fact, and worryingly for Spurs fans, Chelsea have won four of their last five away matches against Tottenham. Spurs last beat Chelsea at home in 2023 thanks to goals from Oliver Skipp and Harry Kane - both no longer at the club.

With Spurs looking a better side under Thomas Frank, this might be a difficult trip for Enzo Maresca - although recent history suggests Chelsea are worthy favourites. Nathan Joyes has taken a look at the Premier League betting odds and provided his best bet.

Goals a sensible bet

Tottenham's (7/4 with Betfred) home form hasn't been great. Despite opening the campaign with a 3-0 win against Burnley, defeats against Bournemouth and Aston Villa have followed - as well as a disappointing draw against Wolves.

Their position has largely been down to the success of their away form, having picked up 13 points from a possible 15.

And this is where Chelsea (3/2 with Betano) will make the short trip full of hope. Across all competitions, Maresca's side have only lost two matches out of seven - one against Bayern Munich and the other against Man United when playing the entire match with 10 men.

But all seven of their matches on the road have produced over 2.5 goals - and their trip to Molineux saw seven midweek. Chelsea look strong going forward, scoring at least two goals in five of those seven games, but clean sheets are hard to come by.

This is why over 2.5 match goals looks to be the best bet - with Spurs looking to rectify their home form.
