Hello again, racing fans! I had a real strong week last week, including a 33/1 winner! Stay tuned for more this week. I have a Lucky 31 for you to get stuck into for Friday's racing, and have also put up a bonus each way Lucky 15 just for you! Head over to my YouTube channel for those.
Below are my selections for Friday’s racing. Thank you for all of your support so far, and don't forget to check out my socials @gingerjoeracing on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter & Facebook for daily updates!
J: Oisin McSweeney / T: Kevin Ryan
RATHBONE will be hard to catch here and has been in the form of his life at the moment. He has a lot of weight but this is countered by Oisin McSweeney’s huge 7lb allowance and he is great value for it. A real promising young jockey. RATHBONE loves it here at Thirsk and won his last two here over C&D and could be hard to stop again. He is likely to do better in time still and although this is ultra competitive he gets my clear vote in this.
J: Georgia Dobie / T: Eve Johnson Houghton
GRANARY QUEEN could well have found a good opportunity of getting back to winning ways here and has been knocking on the door of late. Her best effort was her most recent run where I think she was unlucky not to win and definitely has a big chance here. It’s likely that there is more to come from her still.
She has run 8 times this year. 7 of them over 7 furlongs and just the one over 6 furlongs but she put up a mighty effort that day and I think she's really well suited to the shorter trip and think she is ahead of a few of these. She will be bang there at the finish with a repeat effort of her only other 6 furlong start. A good opportunity.
J: Tom Eaves / T: Kevin Ryan
KENTUCKY ROSE has a really good opportunity for him to double his winning tally. He didn't show much in his first two starts, but left that form well behind when he bolted up last time winning easily with plenty left in the tank. He’s clearly open to more at this stage and could just have a touch of class about him. At this stage I think he is ahead of his rivals and very much the one to beat.
J: Franny Norton / T: Mark Johnston
JULIE JOHNSTON has generally been really disappointing this season so far however was back to something like her best last time out and has slipped to a very dangerous mark. She looked much more like herself last time and clearly starting to find her form. MELAKAZ would have a good chance each way but I do think JULIE JOHNSTON is the one that takes all the beating and the 5/2 is plenty of value based on her credentials. Big Player.
J: Andrea Atzeni / T: Jonathan Portman
NEW HEIGHTS is my NAP selection for Friday and I think she could well be primed for another win here. She has been in really good form and has potentially found optimum conditions for her again. I do think GERT LUSH will run a big race at the prices, but still has a bit to find with my selection.
NEW HEIGHTS however is the one to beat and there is plenty of value in her 6/1. She was good as a 2y-o and now just starting to find her feet and unlock her potential. She is potentially ahead of her rivals based on her last run and is the pick of the bunch for me!
