The second week of the LEC Summer 2022 is here, and it’s time to get your bet slip in place before the fireworks happen. In this article, we’ll be taking a look at the G2-Vitality matchup on the 25th of June at 7:00 PM GMT. We’ll be analysing and weighing the differences between both to help you make a more reasonable LEC Summer betting judgment. Let’s get started.

G2 has always been the true European leader, and, with their current 3-0 standing in the LEC Summer Group Stage, they’re proving once again why they’re not planning to give up their high status any time soon. G2’s players include Sergen "BrokenBlade" Çelik, Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski, Rasmus “caPs” Winther, Victor “Flakked” Lirola, and Raphaël “Targamas” Crabbé, with caPs and Jankos being on the team since 2018.
Many people doubted that the team would restore their former glory after failing in the LEC Summer 2021, where they finished 4th and lost their ticket to Worlds. Even more people didn’t think much of them after the roster changes, especially when teams like Fnatic and MAD Lions were on the rise.
But now, the team is back and stronger than ever. Earlier this year, they won the LEC Spring 2022 in the most dominating fashion, beating Team Vitality, Misfits Gaming, Fnatic, and Rogue on their way to the top. All of the series they played ended in a 3-0 wipe. This achievement allowed them to compete with the Chinese and the Koreans at the Mid-Season Invitational 2022, where they finished an expected 3-4th along with NA’s Evil Geniuses.
On the other hand, we have Team Vitality, which is clearly the underdog in the fight. They’ve never really been considered a member of the EU elite, and you’ll see why by looking at their recent history. Where G2 finished first in the LEC Summer 2022, Team Vitality finished 5th. Going back to the seasonal events in 2021, Team Vitality could only manage 6th to 10th with all their best.
This is why they did a major alteration to their roster back in 2021 as G2 did. Their players now include Barney “Alphari” Morris, Kang “Haru” Min-seung, Luka “Perkz” Perković, Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság, and Labros “Labrov” Papoutsakis. With Haru joining only a couple of weeks ago (the 6th of June, to be specific), it will be interesting to see how much impact the new jungler will have in the series. Is it going to be enough to cause miscalculations even among the best esports bookmakers in the league? We’ll see soon.
So, which team to back if you want to participate in some LEC Summer betting action? Well, it’s first important to know what the bookies are currently thinking. Right now, Bet365 is offering 2.50 for Team Vitality to win and a generous 1.50 for G2. Other bookies are more conservative with their Team Vitality odds and are only willing to give around 2.40 for the team. If you're uncertain about the odds leader, then read up on the bookie's reputation in our Bet365 Esports review.
You’ll see that their offers indicate some respect towards Team Vitality. Even though they’re the underdogs, the way the bookies set up their odds tells us that G2 doesn’t have this one in the bag, at least not right from the get-go. Perhaps this is because Team Vitality is currently standing at 2-1 in the group stage. They also performed decently in their latest match against the favourite MAD Lions, which probably made the bookies a little uncomfortable.
The main reason is that, as we get closer to the end of the year, the League of Legends tournaments you can bet on will be exhausted. And unless you like betting on B-Tier events and risking your money on unknown teams from all around the world, you’re not going to get that many opportunities left to make some money.
At the moment, while the regional events are still underway, you still have your chances. In this match, in particular, there’s the element of change in play, which often makes for a great advantage on the bettors’ part. For one, with Team Vitality’s latest roster change (Haru in the Jungle position), underdog bettors can very much expect an upset to happen. Since this would only be their fourth match since the Korean jungler got signed and they’re already showing strength, who’s to say they won’t come out on top?
In any case, use the power of variable change to your side and amplify your winnings by taking advantage of the best betting offers out there!
We reckon this event is where the teams will be revealing their cards. After all, the top 3 teams to finish will be directly invited to the most anticipated League of Legends tournaments of all: the Worlds Championship. If you’re on the G2 side, their baseline odds are looking pretty profitable across many betting sites already. Jumping in too late could result in a lower profit. If you’re on Team Vitality, 2.50 is a solid start although this could easily go higher in our estimate.
