Ginger Joe - Four Great Horse Racing Tips for Tuesday 19 April 2022

Welcome back to the Ginger Joe Racing Show!

We have had an excellent bank holiday weekend full of racing, but the fun doesn’t stop yet! There are some really interesting cards this week and then it’s on to Punchestown a week later for the Jumps season finale.

Tuesday's Quickfire Horse Racing Selections

COSTLY DIAMOND - 1.40 Sedgefield @ 3/1

This mare was absolutely cruising last time out before unseating Brian Hughes and she is only 3lbs higher than her last winning mark. Her last race was a big step back in the right direction and she has already had three wins here over course and distance. Costly Diamond has to be in the mix here!

LATER DARLING - 4.00 Epsom @ 7/2

Although this horse didn’t start his career until late last year, he has been progressing nicely in his three starts to date. He is likely to take another big step forward on his return to action and he’s sure to be ready first time out. The two ahead of him in the market may well need the run and it will be no surprise to see Later Darling take all the beating in this race!

NEW PURSUIT - 4.30 Epsom @ 7/2

This one actually came out and looked very smart on debut, when he won here, easily beating a field of far more experienced horses. In his three runs since then, he did look a little bit green, but won’t need to improve much following his gelding operation to figure strongly for connections in this race. I follow New Pursuit strongly.

DREAM BY DAY - 5.10 Yarmouth @ 10/30 (NAP)

A horse who looks like he has the profile, plus plenty of pace, to handle the drop back to six furlongs. As with my last selection, this one has also been gelded since his last run and is likely to take a significant step forward. He easily got into contention in his latest starts, but had a good look around in the process and wasn’t quite focused on the job at hand. Dream By Day will take a lot of beating first time out this season and it will be no surprise to see a much different performance this time around.
